Julie,Hope you all have a great turn out, if I were up in that neck of the woods I would join you for sure. I think it is great that these support groups are getting started in all different places. When I had my surgery ,I would have loved to have had a place I could go and meet with others like myself . I am sending you all great applause for all your hard work and efforts to help others by getting this going. Koodos to Jen VT for her contribution as well. Ging

Does anyone know if there are any aneurysm support groups in Columbus or Dublin Ohio? Thank You,

LittleBit,
You could start your own! We did. I would contact Riverside Methodist Hospital or Grant Medical in the Columbus area and ask if you could use their facilities (meeting room) to offer a brain aneurysm support group. Perhaps the place to start is the interventional neurological department. I know that Riverside has several top NIRs, so they might be willing to help.
We just advertised on this web site and another aneurysm board that we were starting a support group, asking if there were any other aneurysm survivors, family members, caretakers, or those who had had an aneurysm found incidentally and repaired who would like to join.
One of our members also contacted the local paper to let those who aren't on-line know that there was a support group. You can also contact the Brain Aneurysm Foundation and post your group with them.
Our group, NNEASG, is really new, but I'm so glad we have all met and are there for each other!

Thanks Julie. That's a great idea, now to get it started, LOL. With my memory loss I'll probably forget my first support group meeting.!!

Littlebit,
The beauty of a support group is you have others to help you remember! If you're like me, I post dates on a calendar; then I write reminders on the kitchen blackboard and as a back-up I make a post it note in front of the coffee maker.
I'm very excited about this upcoming meeting with Dr Eskey. For those of you in New England, Concord NH is a very convenient drive and we hope you could join us.

I would like to add that the support group is for more than just survivors.
As Judy's hubby (and corporate knowledge of her event) I find it very helpful to go to the meetings.

I'm counting down the days! Jen, you have no idea how excited I am to be able to ask Dr. Eskey all my aneurysm questions! I hope we have enough time! LOL! THANK YOU for setting this up!
Now, if I could only get my eye to stop killing me! I'll be going to the neuro-ophthalmologist in Boston on the Thursday before our next meeting. Hopefully he has the answers to my vision loss and pain!
Thank you again, Jen!

Julie,
I'm soooo sorry to hear you're having vision loss now and experiencing more pain. I had hoped the Dr's could have finally come to a conclusion to give you relief! Hopefully on your next visit. Hang in there.
JenVT, congrats on your clear bill of health from the MRI/MRA! Enjoy life!

Thanks Heidi! I don't go to the specialist for a week (I feel like I'm always waiting for an appointment).
I have other news, I'll PM you.
