Update :(

News is not good, my step-father has lung cancer, diagnosis came this morning.
Next phase, testing next Tuesday, lung biopsy the end of the month, waiting on word on when he will be seen by an oncologist.

Just trying to take this all in right now, and remaining strong for my mom and pop, I did talk to him, he sounded fine on the phone, not great but fine, and he told me that everything will be alright.

I'll post more at a later time.

I know how hard it is to hear that one of your parents has a very serious illness.

Take this time now to make sure that you let him know everything that's in your heart. This is the time to invest in being with him now.

I know that we all have to go through this in our own way. But, Karenica, please know that you're not alone in this. You've got herds of people here who've been through something similar and are willing to listen and to offer you advice ... and just to be here to support you.

Bless your step-dad. I hope he's not in any pain. Hugs.

5 yr survival is much greater today than 20+ yrs ago... back then only 1%-2% lived past 5yr.. I don't remember the average figure today.. but .. it is dramatically greater... hopefully things will work out well
