Cry Tears

Hi all.
I'm posting some pics to share with certain freinds....a day of my life here in Oregon. We live in Eagle Creek Oregon....33 road miles to the bottom of Mt Hood. Its actually 20+ airmiles from my home. Its a very active volcano, last erupted 230 years ago. You can smell sulfurous vents in some areas around the ski slopes. There's also hot spots along the rivers where the water comes out boiling hot. Great place to bubble around in...but too many unsavory people have caused problems there....so its ruiend it for others.
I took my grandkids snow boarding on Friday. We had to spend the night up there because its too much for me handle the entire "ordeal"...just driving up there was enough to fatigue me! I rested in my truck while the kids took lessons. I was able to park just at the top of their ski slope. Perfect!
It was bitterly cold during the night. Really cool sunrise that morning, with reds and orange colors. The skies were clear most of the day, then snowed lightly....very icey type flakes. On Wednesday we'd driven up there but couldn't find a hotel....had to drive all the way back home. Then drove up Thursday after confirming a room...then I forgot my meds....had to drive all the way back home, then back up....what an ordeal!
The sacrifices this worn out grandma makes!
My grandson took the snow boarding like a natural.
Grand daughter....well the pictures says it all! She did finally make it up 20 feet on the tow rope...now if she could just hang on for the rest of the 500 feet! Oh well. She did get up on the board for 5 feet! WOW! Do we have an olympian in the making here?! Peeka-boo-streak!
Anyway....finished the weekend off with home made banana splits and good old fashioned Christmas movies.
We made 3 gift baskets and 20 mugs filled with goodies to be given out with food baskets for our area's poor people. It was so much fun putting these together...so much work!
I purchased these mugs at thrift stores and garage sales during the year....found so many goodies for just pennies.
I put packets of hot cocoa, candy canes and other good candies in each mug.
Blessings, cheryl
Ooooppps....I put the wrong pictures up here....will put the Mt Hood pics up in next thread. Sorry.
