Prognosis of prostate cancer ? See what doctors say

When a cell neoplasm of prostate cancer is detected from the body, your doctor will usually arrive at a prediction. The prognosis is a rational assumption by doctors to determine the outcome of the disease, survival and mortality rates, salaries and applicable recurrence possible. Prognosis of prostate cancer is usually illustrated by statistics based on various studies that were conducted by experts for many years.

The prognosis of prostate cancer depends and how cancer cells spread already. This is usually denoted by steps. Stage I is when he is still confined to the prostate and has not posted anything yet, in short it is located. In the second stage, the cancer has spread to the capsule surrounding the gland already. Stage III is where it has spread outside the gland, probably reaching the seminal vesicle. However, it is not so widespread yet it does not affect other parts of the body. At the fourth stage that cancer cells have widespread affects the lymph nodes and other body parts such as bones and brain.

Prostate cancer may be the most common type of cancer affecting men of fifty years and more, however, the chances of survival is relatively high. As a matter of fact, many men diagnosed with it (especially when the disease is localized) are usually killed by other means or health problems or other natural causes. Fortunately, most men who have been diagnosed are at stage of first or second, which is relatively less dangerous. Only about 10% are diagnosed with cancer at the fourth step.

Prognosis of prostate cancer should not be taken absolutely as it is not certain. They are only the inferences made by the physicians. However, it is useful to you determine your next step to cope with the disease.
