Cancer is a leading cause of death worldwide. Cancer Much research has been done to better understand the disease. Among women, breast cancer is the most common cancer next to lung cancer. There are millions of women affected worldwide and another 200,000 will be diagnosed with the disease in 2007. Current statistics show that breast cancer claims the life of 1 woman every 13 minutes. It would be really beneficial if there is a strong awareness of breast cancer. Knowing the disease, its causes, symptoms, treatment and management, will greatly help patients and families of these patients to better understand the disease.
One of the most effective programs for breast cancer awareness is the walk for breast cancer. In the U.S., it is the cancer within 3 days of benefits. A fundraising program included men and women who want to make a difference in the lives of victims of breast cancer. The program involves 3 days or 60 miles of walking and attended by millions of people around the nation. This is an opportunity for participants to learn more about cancer and using the same time promoting awareness.
