Breast Cancer and You ? The suggestions of other victims of breast cancer survivors and the fight

It's one thing to hear and read about victims of breast cancer in which some survived while others died. However, when it just touches, say a family member or close friend is a different ball game.

I took the initiative to contact my sister, a survivor of breast cancer to talk with him about his ordeal with cancer. But before going there, let me share with you:

Taking a Closer Look at Cancer

Few words expressed so much fear in your head as advised by your doctor that you have "cancer." Do you know that there are over a hundred types are known, various levels of aggression? Many are treatable and even curable.

But check this out, cancer remains the second leading cause of death in North America. However, it is amazing, one third of Americans will die from some form of cancer. Rest assured, not alarmed.

That is sobering, many cancers can be prevented through treatment three times the power, avoidance of carcinogens (cancer causing agents) and strengthened body defenses.

Some environmental carcinogens, based initiate a cancerous growth, including a variety of chemicals and high radiation levels.

The American Cancer Society presents the following suggestions to reduce the risk of cancer:

Maintain an appropriate body weight.

Eat a varied diet (including fruits and vegetables per day)

Eat more foods rich in fiber (whole wheat, grains, etc.)

Limit total fat intake and limit consumption of alcoholic beverages, salted and smoked foods.

What are some treatment options?

Chemotherapy and / or radiotherapy may help in the removal of a cancerous tumor, but both procedures inflict great damage to normal cells while cancer cells.

Chemotherapy is a poison to control the patient based on the idea that the growth of cancer cells are more sensitive to poisons than normal cells. However, there are in many cases of unpleasant side effects.

Radiation therapy works in a similar manner. The cancer is targeted and bombarded with radiation. The tumor is theoretically more sensitive to radiation than surrounding healthy tissue, but serious side effects.

Glutathione (GSH) in recent experiments have shown promising results. The content of GSH in both normal and cancer cells makes them more or less susceptible to damage. High levels of GSH clearly help protect cells from chemotherapy, low levels makes them vulnerable.

However, tumor cells which are rich in BA are generally resistant to chemotherapy, though there have been efforts to reduce the levels of glutathione in tumor cells with drugs such as BSO. The trouble is that the BSO drug reduced glutathione levels in normal cells.

Researchers at McGill, Dr. Baruchel, Batist and their team hotel later worked with Dr. Gustavo Bounous similar to results published in the journal Cancer Research, using a patented whey protein isolate.

This six-month study using the whey protein isolate, caused tumor regression or stabilization. The same researchers showed that high levels of GSH in May strengthen the anti-cancer action of some chemotherapeutic agents.

They were victims of breast cancer before they were survivors

Now back to my sister. I asked him to share some thoughts that we could proceed, if the conversation went as follows:

Interviewer: Tish, when were you first diagnosed with breast cancer?
Tish: 1998

Interviewer: What were your first concern?
Tish: What stage was the cancer.

Interviewer: What were your main concern?
Tish: How it would affect my family.

Interviewer: What were your fears?
Tish: Whether or not it would be necessary to remove a breast or two.

Interviewer: What options come to mind?
Tish: What to do after surgery.

Interviewer: Have you had the operation and what results?
Tish: The surgery was successful, chemo and radiation was not necessary because the tumor was on top of the chest and has not spread elsewhere.

Interviewer: What advice do you have for the victims of breast cancer?
Tish: Do your MRI's random exercise regularly taking vitamin E and avoid caffeine.

This interview opened my eyes to some details which I gladly share with my wife. FYI, my sister is doing well, thank you.

A breast cancer survivors to take this thing one step further

I want you to know that I recently attended a Health Fair for Education sponsored by a survivor of breast cancer whose unwavering support with his doctor and his family gave him the strength to succeed.

It has exploited this desire and has launched a Foundation for breast cancer. I have an appointment with her and her husband to see if I could share her story with others.

Her name is Jackie G. Fort Lauderdale, FL.

Interviewer: What is your initial diagnosis of cancer?
Jackie: January 2007

Interviewer: What were your first concern?
Jackie: Whether or not I would live or die.

Interviewer: What were your fears?
Jackie: Whether or not the cancer had metastasized. You see, breast cancer spreads first to the brain and liver.

Interviewer: What options come to mind?
Jackie: Holistic medicine, chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

Interviewer: Have you had surgery?
Jackie: Yes, with therapy treatments, which made me very sick.

Interviewer: What advice would you give to victims of breast?
Jackie: Listen to your doctor, listen to your body, do not be depressed, get affiliated with a good support system, make a doctors appointment.

Interview: Jackie, what this experience with breast cancer make you move?
Jackie: In November 2007, my husband and I started a Breast Cancer Foundation. We encourage regular review, early detection and aggressive treatment offer
In a nutshell, We Care Awareness Program.
