Hello. Where is everyone??

A reading from Day By Day -

Keeping the Faith

Nothing can have much meaning or seem like it is worthwhile unless we have faith in God's wisdom. Tragedies would not make sense. Aborted plans would make life seem pointless. Working to be one with God might appear fruitless. But our Higher Power is the Wisdom that guides us.

God is our guide and the events outside our realm are under God's jurisdiction too. We may not understand, but we need the faith to continue to turn life over. God has the wisdom, we do not. But if we can have faith in His wisdom, then we don't need that all-powerful wisdom ourselves. Is my faith unshakable?

Lord, may I have faith in Your wisdom to save me from my own false choices, doubts and uncertainties.

I will express my faith today.

God help me to stay clean and sober today.

***********
When I read this one I thought of the things Alice said recently regarding the difficulties she's been facing with her daughter. ;)

It really made me focus more on the strength of my faith in the wisdom of my Higher Power and whether or not I express my faith daily.

How about you?????

Teddiebears!!!!!! You are still around! It's so good to see a familiar face! Thank God for people like you who are so dedicated to be available to those who just might benefit from one thing you say!

You may remember me from the old forums, my username was SCT. It's so good to see you and I just want to say thank you for being so dedicated!

Unfortunately my memory isn't as good as I'd like it to be, but I think I do remember you (and that username - SCT) on this forum before. ;) So nice to see you again.

Thank you so much for your kind words. I really appreciate hearing that something I've done in the past or something I am doing in the present is helping others in some small way. :)

There are a few of us from before that are trying to establish more regular activity on this forum. I think we're making a little progress, although it seems that it is a very slow process.

Hope you'll pop in once in awhile to say 'hello'. As you said, it's always a pleasure to 'see ' a familiar face!! ;)

Hi again teddiebears!

You will be seeing me around, I was so blessed to find the help I needed before. I'm hoping I will be able to get my oldest daughter to join in. She's really suffering due to her dad's addiction. Actually both of my older ones are, and I believe my youngest will be following soon as she gains a better understanding of what is going on in her life.

I do have the 2 older ones in counseling, but I would like for them to have a place to come and vent! I have posted here and on the family site as well in hopes of building some activity!

Thanks again for being here! :D

Hi, bats here! My computer is still in the shop. It will be ok, she is just really busy. I am at the library now. I think my daughter is drinking and or smoking pot. She has been at the boyfriends alot and she forgot her therapist appointment yesterday and has been avoiding me. I wish she would just be done. I have not had any of the chaos at my home, I just am not happy with her program. I have no proof, but if you hang out in a barbar shop you eventually get a haircut. She has been with people who smoke pot and drink. So, I was in court this AM for a photo enforcement ticket and not in a good mood, so I went to the Y and did water aerobics, hottub and went home to take a nap. Now I am here, then I will go down to the Harbor and do some step work and then secretary my homegroup. My sponsor will be there. Good thing I have a program. I am dissapointed in my daughter! Feelings are normal, I guess. Addicts tend to try to change the way they feel, so now that I feel and deal, it is different. I don't even think of getting drunk or loaded. I just go strait to exercise, healthy food and my program! Miracle!:D

Dizzy (SCT),

I remember you very well. It's very nice to see you. The forum is very slow but we do have some regular posters. I'll be looking forward to seeing you start some roll calls.
