This story is on CNN today, I guess it's best to avoid crowds because handwashing isn't as effective with H1N1. I'll find out Monday when I can get the shot when I go see my new PCP. I seem to be getting more prone to infections too lately. Hope I can avoid the flu this season.

Some doubt hand washing stops H1N1

Hand washing can reduce risk of catching a cold; not as helpful against H1N1

H1N1 virus not stable on hand; instead it thrives in droplets of water

Inhaling airborne particles, from cough or sneeze, results in a bigger dose of virus

Regardless, washing hands "really is wonderful" for preventing many diseases

No surprise there. Colds are also transmitted with sneezing etc. My plan is to stay away from movies and other crowds until I am immunized successfully.

You're welcome NB12. :)

BBS,

I wonder if one of the points of this article was for people who thought that they could fend off the H1N1 with antibacterial wipes and handwashing? I suppose it could have been. I need to watch more carefully for people coughing or sneezing when out in public.
