This is too good not to share. The book I am copyediting has a fabulous typo.

It refers to "all the most current neuro-imagining technologies, such as fMRI and PET."

Now we know!! It's all in the imagination of those machines and those "neuros"! :)

The question that popped into my mind; do you correct that typo are not?

Nancy:

Ha ha ha. You made my day. That's great.

I used to own a secretarial service. Part of services we offered were resumes. I prepared a resume for a lady who had been involved with the Women's Art Festival.

My typo: Women's fArt festival.

The OP is what you might call a Freudian slip. Hmmm. Come to think of it, the second one is, too.

Joy: oh yeah, I corrected it, all right. This is actually a philosophy manuscript, so I would get no perverse enjoyment from seeing the typo in print in that context.

Now if this were a medical journal, I'd be sorely tempted to pretend I didn't see it! :) And in that case, Chris, I would agree it was a Freudian slip, but as it is, I think it's more likely a spell-checker error.

Cricket: What was that, some kind of artsy-fartsy festival? :D

Nancy you too funny!

That happened years ago, I can't believe I remembered it. The lady in question was not amused.

Guess I am "imagining" the incontinence I get sometimes when things get a little "fartsy" since I am still in limboland. :D
