Hi Trudi :)

Welcome to BrainTalk. There's nothing wrong with lurking btw ;)

Don't hesitate to ask questions if you're unsure about something.

I like lurking! Seriously, there are many forums for Neurological conditions here with many people with questions, and I hope, some answers to those questions.

Hello, I am new, just decided to go to internet and so what I cn learn. I am a 66 lady, been active all my life.A year ago I began to have trouble walking. The md did a MRI and said i severe degenertive disc disease and sent me to a nuro surgeon. He determined I had a slipped disc in lower back and scheduled surgery for approximately 1 month later. Also scheduled Physical therapy. The therapist kept telling me it all did not go with slipped disc. I began losing control strenghth etc in my left arm hand etc. MD saw me and did catscan of head. 3 cm tumor on brain, did biopsy, first said gioblastoma, after sent slide to another lab and came back lymphoma of cns. I took three conscentrated chemo though omegga port. Third one was so hard on me they don't want me to have anymore. 25 radiation treatments. Still do not walk good. Have trouble with bathroom, and lately I have trouble remembering what I have done or said. Weakness in left side, arm and leg. Have lots of trouble getting out of chair and bed. I want back to some normalcy. Needless to say, I retired. This can be depressing, will it ever get better?

Welcome Trudi & HLCroy, you will never regret finding this site. Lot's of wonderful supportive people here. I invite both of you to join in on the Forum for Emotional Support. Many of us are depressed from not being able to work or enjoy life as we used to,it's a huge help to know you are not alone!

As for any condition getting better? Well my motto is never give up hope!

Ahhh... migraines. Ice pick ones - aka cluster migraines. Welcome, although I am sorry for what brings you here.

To HLCroy - One thing that could help is to have some hired help for care, such as nurse's aide or home health aide.
