I have a question for the hydro folks out there. Are you more susceptible to feeling ill if you bump your head? Our daughter (who has a VP shunt) has cracked her head pretty good on 3 occassions over the last year. Not serious bumps - typical 2 year old stuff. But on each occassion she's had an episode of vomiting and/or lethargy within 24 hours. They tend to be rather short and not as severe as full-blown shunt failure but are very similar. She does have very small vents and I'm wondering if any degree of trauma could cause enough of a reaction for pressure-related symptoms. Anyone else run into this or is more likely a coincidence? We've think we've been dealing with migraines as well (which also have the same symptoms) so there's a bunch of variables in the mix.

Thanks

hi , my son Daniel is the same , he seems more easily susceptable to minor concossions to full blown ones when he knocks his head , he also has small ventricles , daniel also has ? migraines from the low pressure caused by his small ventricles at times , so there is a lot to think about , how old is your daughter , my son is 9. jo

Alex is 2 1/2. I didn't consider the migraines could be related to pressure or ventricle size. Interesting. Something to think about. Apparently migraines in 2 year olds aren't common but aren't all that rare either.
