Happy Boxing Day.

(26th December.)

A day to rest and get over the excesses of Xmas :D

(Originally thought to be the day when the Church Collection boxes where opened for the poor in olden times)

Happy Boxing Day.. the day when traditionally in the UK you go fox hunting.....well used to be
I have fond memories of being a child and taken to the village to see all the hounds and riders of the hunt in their red jackets.
A sight that is vanishing in the UK due to the banning of Hunts

Hope you all had a nice Boxing Day.

Tradition here is to watch the first day of the Boxing Day Test Match and the start of the Sydney to Hobart yacht race or maybe catch some sunshine at the beach. I ate too much trifle. ;)

Was a good day!

LOL - the day went from being a day for opening the church collection box and tending to the poor to a day of rest after the excess of Christmas. The original thought was a good one - hopefully, it's not completely lost. :o

As a teenager, I used to work at a stable and loved jumping. I had a secret fantasy to participate in a fox hunt. I never had a desire for fox fur or to see the animal harmed, but it looked like sooooo much fun to run and jump across the countryside. Steeple chasing looked like lots of fun too. :D
