I miss you so much, we all do. I am glad I was able to visit you today. We miss you, love you and will never forget you. It's two Christmas holidays without you. Merry Christmas in Heaven, Dad. You are missed.

It is 2 Christmas holidays without my dad, too and one without my mom. They died 10 months apart. It left me, as an only child, with no family except my teenage daughter, who is with her father for Christmas. The 28th would have been my mom's birthday, too. You never realize how much you would miss them until they are gone - how much, despite your differences, a family means.

Today is my moms birthday but the last time I spent with my dad was the Thanksgiving of 93. He loved Christmas, he was more excited then the kids. It has been 13 Christmas' for me, but I do still miss him this time of the year.
Mom's birthday 28th
Their Anniversary 30th
Daddy passes Jan.10th
His Birthday Jan 21st
And our family has never been the same since!

I am very sorry to both of you, Shirley and Shown for your great loss. I hope you made it through the holiday ok. I know what you mean when you say, it's never been the same since. My Dad would be the first to talk about putting up the decorations and tree. He never asked for anything for himself for Christmas but he would be the first up and I would catch him peeking under the tree. He dressed as Santa for family in the past, the local pet store one year, when Santa never showed to take pics of himself with pets.I remember him telling me he had second thoughts when a Great Dane showed up and jumped on him. He was a very funny man. He loved the holidays.
It is very true no matter how many differences there may be, the loss is great and family means so much.
