I'm not new to HP, I just had to re-register (FYI).

So I've had moderate to severe pain in both feet since late in 2008. I was diagnosed with a heel spur around 2005 and it went away on its own without intervention. I assumed this pain would as well...but it's going on 8 months and if anything, the pain is getting worse.

I've gotten x-rays and my doc (just a basic HMO doc) found a spur on my left foot but has no clue what's causing pain in the right (although he did note I have some 'nerve slowness' in that leg).

My question is, am I missing something? I wake up and can barely place my feet on the floor without crying. I've tried painkillers, lyrica, neurontin...and this is not getting any better. I have no idea what to do or where to turn. Can anyone help advise me? Thanks.

Could it be Peripheral Neuropathy? It can have many causes. I won't name them here because I'm sure I'll leave out something out. It does sound a lot like what you're talking about. There's a forum for Peripheral Neuropathy here at Brain talk. Here's the link:

linnie, you're right, I was told I probably had peripheral neuropathy, but I've tried the meds usually given for it--neurontin, lyrica--with absolutely no results. I'm just very frustrated. :( I'll try your links, thanks!

Get yourself a bottle of B12 Methylcobalamin,it's cheap & you might be surprised how B12 can help. Do some reading on the vitamin forum here. Good luck! ps.neurotin can cause kidney damage.
