Now I'm annoyed. The antibiotics dont seem to be working.

This is driving me nuts.

Just called the emergency # for my doctor. The nurse told me to take the last 2 of my Cipros tomorrow when I'm supposed to take them, and if that doesnt do anything for the problem to call her back.

Why do things like this always happen on a weekend or during a holiday when it's seriously expensive or difficult to get in to see the doctor? (The nurse told me she usually has 10 calls a night...tonight she's had 45-50 calls!)

edited to add:
I figured out what the problem was. I was reading about the Cipro. It has an interesting side effect that causes your body to produce an unusual amount of urine. (and they Rx-ed it for a UTI!?! go figure!) That explains a lot.

Things so far today and tonight (Xmas) have been relatively back to normal. I've been drinking a lot of water and cranberry juice (suddenly I'm addicted to the cranberry juice...never used to like it before) and am not having the problems I was having the other night. thankgoodness!!

Erin,
In case your symptoms don't get better with antibiotics, you may want to have the urgency/frequency problems evaluated by a uro that has knowledge of interstitial cystitis/pelvic floor dysfunction (can cause overactive bladder/frequency), and see if either of these could be contributing to your symptoms.

Interstitial cystitis isn't that common but it does exist (I have been diagnosed since 1999), and I spent nearly a year getting antibiotics for a non-existant UTI.

hang in there. here are a couple of links:

I think I might know what's causing it now. I'm pretty sure it's neurologic.

Had a couple of MRI's last week and they found a lesion on my C4 and T12.. I'm guessing one of those is responsible for the plumbing being wonky. Either that, or the elevated liver enzyme they found on my blood work might have something to do with it. Seeing a neuro on monday about the neurological stuff. I'm going to ask him about the potty problems too, since I think they're connected to neuro problem

Weird thing is...it was really bad until Christmas day...then it left me alone...got my period the day after Xmas and didnt have any problem with the frequency again until tonight. (wonder if there's a connection there?)

At least tonight it's no where near as bad as it was last week. Hopefully it'll leave me alone soon.
