This is from July 4 09 or close to that:
(Sorry Lily, it's helpful for what I want to discuss and I also had said I would get back to you!)

Cathy,
If it helps any, I get the fatigue and poor memory/concentration too. I recently had my psych evaluation, as part of my application for Disability benefits, and they did alot of memory testing on me - all kinds of different ways involving images and numbers and faces and things in order and then backwards, and at the end he told me that I had memory deficits. I thought that it was the medications doing it, but now you are making me think that it may not be just that. From self-observation, it seems to me that there is a break in the link between short term and long term memory. I'd be interested to hear what yours feels like.
Hope you are doing well today,
Lily

I will be adding to this later - have to lie down now :(

Hmmm...easy to make my point now.

I lay down for no more than 20 minutes yet my brain is working OK again.

My point is I think I siphon (lesser form of over draining-at times I think it forms a suction but doesn't drain much) just enough to both mess up my memory & cognition and to increase my head pain.

I believe that my ICP fluctuates frequently every day and that is what causes my memory to fail. Sometimes I will remember things if I am given clues/reminders or sometimes just when I feel better.
Then there is some stuff that never made it to my long term memory.

If this is pretty random, I am still recovering from my daughter's wedding (it was amazing :):D
I was up the WHOLE DAY!!!! for about the 2nd time since being shunted  (more if I count the days I have a few brief lie downs.)
We adore our now son-in-law and get along very well with his parents too :)
What more can we ask for!

OK back to hydro.

Now, I'd love to hear other people's experiences &/or theories.

Cathy

I've been overdraining for a few years now and just recently when my headaches got severe, my short term memory started to go. The other night I actually had to ask my boyfriend if we had seen each other the night before, when in fact we had spent the WHOLE night together. He thought I was just kidding when I asked, but I was dead serious. My memory gets really bad when my headaches come on and I've also noticed I get disoriented.

Hope you get some relief soon, Cathy.. and so glad to hear your daughter's wedding went well! I'm in the process of planning my sister's wedding/bridal shower, all that good stuff.. maybe THAT'S where my headaches are coming from! LOL

I also have over draining problem. I have terrible headaches every day and all I want to do is sleep, is there any medication that can help, over the counter meds dont seem to help and ones prescribed so far havent realy helped.
