View Full Version : ShakeShakeShake
OCDer, Anxiety disorder, Severe Depression, blahblahblah. Now that introductions are out of the way - do any of you have a problem with shaking or muscle jerks connected to your anxiety? At times it's so bad I cannot write, and DEFINITELY can't rest. Who can rest while your vibrating off the bed?
I recently started Requip (3 weeks or so ago) and it seemed to help at first, but today, today is not a good day.
(and just to throw another kink into things, I had a seizure about a month ago which was attributed to low potassium, dehydration, low blood sugar, and withdrawal from xanax. I had another one about 4 months ago)

Yes I do the shake shake shake thing almost all of the time.I will need to sign my name to a simple piece of paper and I can't make the letters look legible. It's embarrassing to say the least, but my rheumy told me that it's common in people with Fibro.

I am a shake, shake, shaker too!
I get embarrassed at times, to top it off I have cerebellar ataxia. So I walk like I am drunk, the shakes make me look like I am on meth:eek: .
All of my muscles would twitch 80-100 times a minute. It gets painful and very tiring! When I am stressed things get worse. I was placed on Klonopin to help with my shakes. It has helped a lot but when I am stressed or tired it does not help.
Klonopin is an addictive type of medication. I didn't realize how addictive until I had a g-tube place and my stomach was nicked and leaked into my abdominal cavity causing me to go into septic shock. All of my meds were abruptly stopped. I developed severe cold sweats, I couldn't get comfortable and severe shakes. After getting back on my meds, I felt much better! I guess it's a no win situation:(
I hope you can find some peace soon because I understand what you are going through and I have no perfect answer for you! I wish I did!;)

Javisi I'm so sorry you deal with this too!! What a pain it is to deal with!! Everyone just looks at you and you know they're thinking that person must be crazy!!
Klonipin huh? Well maybe it's time that I start taking something to help me deal with this. It's pretty bad when people will actually say to me, are you okay you're shaking?

Broken bladder,
Yes, the shaking is embarrassing. I hate the stares but I try to remind myself that people are curious. I found a shirt on a site that I wanted to buy but I can't find it anymore It said "I am not drunk, I have Cerebellar Ataxia"
I have learned to live with the slight tremor that I still have! It is so much better than shaking so hard I could bounce out of my chair.
Intially it made me tired but after a short time my body adjusted and I have had to have it increased 1 time. But it really helps.
Before I couldn't even eat with a fork, my tremors were to bad. Now I just do tube feedings. I miss eating food but I am working through it. I occasionally cheat on special days, but I have to be very careful.
I do drink my coffee in the mornings, I just can't give that up! But if I accidently let it go into my lungs, I drink it black so their are no sugars or anything else to cause a bacteria to build up.
I just keep praying that I don't get pneumonia again. That sure wears the body down. Especially when you get in both lungs with in 3 months of eachother!
Enough of my carrying on;)
Dream Big, with hope for all to find Inner Peace,
Laurie:)
