Duragesic Patch

Hi Everyone,

I have been on the patch four months. The last couple of weeks I have noticed that the third day I was in alot of pain. I had my doctor's appt this week and he changed it to changing every 48 hours. I was wondering how it is going to effect me. I get good pain relief from the patch and I am just curious if there will be a difference.

Kathy, I can't give you personal experience but I know people posting here have said all that happens is the pain relief is more constant as you don't have the third day of poor pain relief. I hope you find that your pain is controlled better changing every 48 hours.

No, there won't be any difference other than you will have more consistent pain relief.
All changing it to 48 hours does is avoid the lack of pain relief on the third day. Good luck with it.

Hey Kathy, I had the same thing happen and once I went to every 48 hours, it's been fine. I never noticed any difference just no pain spike the third day which would then make it harder for the new patch to "kick in". Or rather I felt like I was playing catch up once I put the next patch on until it was working at it's full dose. Now I notice nothing but consistant pain relief.
