MRI BRAIN W/O CONTRAST Exam: MRI BRAIN W/O CONTRAST
Exam: MRI BRAIN W/O CONTRAST
CRANIAL MRI::
Clinical information: Headaches.
Sagittal T1, coronal T2 fat-saturated, and axial T2 FLAIR and
diffusion sequences were obtained of the brain.
The sagittal T1 sequence shows decreased signal intensity in the
clivus bone marrow. There also appears to be some posterior
convexity suggesting the possibility of an expansile lesion. It
has a somewhat ground-glass appearance on the T1 and on the FLAIR
sequences. No definite destructive lesion is seen. Gray and
white matter, CSF spaces and vascular flow voids appear normal.
The craniocervical junction appears normal. The diffusion
sequence shows no abnormality.
IMPRESSION:
1. Possible expansile abnormality in the clivus. The
appearance is nonspecific but suggestive of fibrous
dysplasia. No frank destructive lesion is seen.
I would recommend high-resolution skull-based CT
for further evaluation.
2. Otherwise, normal exam.
