My daughter and her boyfriend continue to use and the baby is almost 17 months old now. I am so dissapointed in my daughter. I wish she would either be done or give me the baby. She doesn't have a choice. God save the babies! I hate the disease of addiction! I DO believe in recovery. I hope that recovery wins soon.

Oh Alice I am so sorry. There are so many grandparents in this world raising their grandbabies because the parents have chosen drugs over their children. It is a shame.
Have you thought of calling protective services. I know that sounds like a horrid thing to do to your daughter. Lots of prayers for all involved.

I took the baby to the doctor because she had scabies untreated for 3 weeks. I told the doctor everything knowing the doctor has to report it. My daughter got scared and is now clean one day and has been to 3 meetings in 2 days and has an appointment for an assessment and is willing to do what is recomended. She found someone she knew at the first meeting she went to yesterday that is helping her. This woman is my friend too and I love her! God put them at that meeting together.

I pray that she has the strength to get and stay clean and get rid of the boyfriend if he doesn't clean up.

Thanks for the prayers. So far no BF and she has 8 days clean. She is living at my house with the baby. As long as she respects my home, she can stay.

Hi Alice ~ I know this isn't easy for your daughter and it CAN'T be easy for YOU either ~ but, if she's got more than 8 days clean, she can keep going one day at a time!!! God bless her for at least trying! And thank God for intervening!!! And thank YOU for taking the baby to the doctor!
Things happen for a reason, and perhaps this is just what it took for her to realize what she was doing to both herself and her baby. I pray that it is so.
She (and YOU) will stay in my prayers ~ and of course the baby too! God bless and keep us posted. Hugs, Lee

My daughter has 17 days clean and a sponsor. The scabies were so bad, the treatment has been repeated once a week for 3 weeks. It looks like this will be the last treatment, though. I THANK GOD FOR SCABIES! It could have been alot worse. This will not traumatize or kill her and my daughter has a bug phobia. This is a better bottom than some crazy tweaker hurting her or for the baby to wander outside and get hit by a car or whatever other bad thing that could have happened. My daughter is still mad at me sometimes for telling on her, but she will get over it. Even if she did, it is not a popularity contest. I had to stand up and do what I could to protect the baby. I dropped her off at my sister's while I work these next couple of days. She is in recovery and alot of the people around her are as well. I hope she hears what she needs to hear. Thank HP I have recovery in my family! :)
