Ok...I thought the frequent urination had stopped...apparently not. It was just giving me a break (or teasing me)

Tonight after dinner (where I drank plain old H2O) I started having problems.

It seems like when I'm sitting, I've got a serious urge to go. When I do go, it just a little bit.

When I'm standing, or kneeling (you get tired of standing after awhile) it seems like the urge isnt as strong.

It's causing me a LOT of anxiety. Tomorrow I'm going to insist that the doctor's office see me. I'll camp out in their bathroom till they do if I have to.

This is so very much annoying...and I'm willing to bet it's a symptom of whatever neurological problem that has decided to set up shop in my body.

ARGGGH!! <lots of swearing>

make it stop!!

I took 1/2 of a lorazepam a little bit ago because I'm so stressed out...hopefully that doesnt relax me to the point where I cant get to the bathroom in time. I just have to be glad that I dont have a cold right now I guess.

Hi Erin,
I hope your fears are not true too.
Sorry you're going through this. Glad you're heading to the doctor and hopefully whatever is causing this can be sorted out so you're not in that sort of discomfort. all the best to you,
Lara

I saw the doctor today!

Got to pee in the little cup...and it came back negative for an infection.

He still gave me a Rx for Macrobid (1 pill BID x 7 days)

AND I'm getting an MRI of my lower back for Christmas. (Christmas comes early this year...MRI is tomorrow)

I've been all worried about the possibilities of MS or Lyme...the doctor actually thinks that I have a problem in my back. (slipped disc or something) He had me lay on my back and then he lifted my right leg up while keeping my knee straight. (that's the leg I've had numbness and tingly feelings in since April) When he lifted my leg up, he didnt get more than a few inches before my back made me scream OWWWWWW!.

He lifted my other leg and no owwies there.

He said that's the response he was looking for. Said that my symptoms correlate to the pain in my back, and that it's probably responsible for some of the potty problems. So he's going to get the MRI pictures to see what's going on in there.

He was going to do the MRI without contrast, but I asked him to do it with contrast also since I'm still more than a bit worried about MS. He said ok.

and then he sent in the vampires to draw blood for a Lyme titer, two other blood tests that I think are for MS, and a blood sugar test...and I think he's checking my liver enzymes (they were elevated last time I was at that particular dr's office, so they're checking that too)

This doctor was surprised that the other doctors I saw didnt do these tests when all my problems started earlier this year. He was the first dr that I saw when I got optic neuritis in my left eye, but after he referred me to the optho I didnt see him again because he left to get married...so I was passed off to one of the other doctors in his office.

He was also really surprised that the P.A. in his office hadnt done a follow up on me when I complained of numbness in my right hip all the way back in April! All she did was take an x-ray and tell me to put heat and ice on it and rest. She gave me the big impression that she didnt believe me, so I didnt go back to that office until I developed Optic Neuritis in August.

He said that the numbness in my hip back then was a big shiny red flag with big spotlights on it that was telling us something was wrong, but no one apparently believed me about it, or they didnt think it was that serious.

It just feels good to have a doctor listen to me (and listen to me before my insurance deductible rolls over again) It's really annoying to talk to a doctor and watch their eyes glaze over because they think you're a hypochondriac.

I just wish he had given me something else to take to stop the constant urge to pee!

I was totally impressed with his nurse that played vampire for the blood draw. She told me she used to be a homicide detective and had worked as a CSI for awhile. She got burned out on death and went back to school to become a nurse because she likes live people much better than the dead ones. She was hilarious.
