Hi, since I've rejoined after the outage, I've noticed I get no search results when I search on "Dr. Jho" or Jho or jho. I know there are hits as I've mentioned him in my own posts, for example:

Search works fine for me on longer terms, for example the 5 letter word drjho. Is there a way to search on short names, or possibly a way to search on "Dr. Jho"?
Appreciate any advice. Thanks...

Howdy!
If "Dr. Jho" is a poster's name, you might try looking
in the Members List.

... Dr. Jho is the surgeon, not the poster.
I'm hoping one of the moderators can comment on the ability to search on "jho". I'm pretty certain we were able to do so before the system was rebuilt.

Ok I think I know why.
The search term is too short. Try "drjho" and you'll get results.

I understand that searching on drjho works, but it used to be that searching just on the three letter word jho also worked. Anyway you can get that fixed?
I know it's rare to have a valid three letter search, but in this case it's pretty important. Dr. Jho is a world renowned neurosurgeon. Many of us comment on him here, and more importantly, we are seeking out others that have comparable skills.
As someone that made a reasonable contribution to the "braintalk server relief" effort in 2005 thru paypal, I'd hope my question would at least be forwarded to the techie in charge. Again, I'm certain that this search used to work.

I will bring this up with John when I speak with him tomorrow evening.

If John can't resolve it, then I best be searching elsewhere....

If you search Google, you'll find Dr. Jho.
The search functions here did work better in the past, but this is now :). People at the admin level seem to be working on fixing things; I think that BT is run totally by volunteers, if I'm not mistaken.
I've also donated, and also think that there is much room for improvement, only... well, do what you think is best for you :).

Yes, I'm aware of the google search engine.
All I'm asking is for John L to give this issue a quick thinking through. Maybe it's just a configuration parameter (lowering the minimal search size to 3), or maybe it's something he can add to the bottom of the "rainy-day-todo-list".
I appreciate the unrecognized demands of volenteer work and hope I didn't convey a different attitude.
