Hey all, it's been way too hectic here lately. Here's an update...

Vince is still off strattera, hopefully he can finally be totally drug free. IF it turns out cause of his adhd his life is substantially improved on adhd meds however, I will not hesitate to put him back on (due to my experience with my meds making my life worth living instead of just surviving). But so far, almost at the 2 week mark, I don't see a giant difference between him being on and off...we'll see how he feels about it as time goes on.

Carmen will be 12 in a few weeks. Planning a party at a pizza place for her...of the 10 friends she wants to come 3 have autism. She just doesn't see others as 'different', I love that. She is still guardian and best friend of the asd girl at camp.

Dh had to go to the ER, and stay the night in the hospital due to chest pains. In the end, they did tons of tests and found them all to be normal...suggested maybe it was a pulled muscle from a push up. I have to find a doctor for him so we can take all his test results there to be interpreted...his dad died younger than he is now from a heart attack. His mom has had a heart attack and that thing where the clear out your arteries with that balloon thing (angioplasty?) so I'm concerned. The 3 nitro glycerin they gave him did help, yet they didn't prescribe him any. So that's consumed me a lot lately.

My big news, got a pair of three toed box turtles. One (the female) I have to admit is my favorite, she tried to bite a chunk of my ear off...crazy cold blooded biatch! I love critters that have no fear of me, do not appreciate me and never suck up...though do not love it when my kids do that, lol.

RR...I saw a site I hoped you might enjoy as much as I did http://www.tamstuart.com/PhotoHomePage/photo_galleries_001.htm you could probably appreciate it from a photographers perspective too. There's got to be close to or more than 1,000 photos....check the slide shows where the bulk of the photos are.

AspieG, how's the RDI book coming along? What are you learning about yourself, about nt's?

Peg, how's Allie, I seem to remember the SIBS finally ceasing.

Pam, how's Jack, how'd the operation go?

Thanks for dropping by, been wondering how you all are doing. Glad to hear Vince is doing good w/o the meds.

Scary stuff about your hub! What a huge worry. Hope you can find him a great doc who takes good care of him. (you know I always recommend DOs if you can find one).

I'll bet you all have a blast on Carmen's bday. 12, huh? Do you feel old yet? I can't believe how old my kids are getting. Truth is I don't think I'd notice myself getting older so much if they'd just stop it!

I can't believe w/ all that's happening, the really big news is turtles! Guess its all POV.

Allie is doing well, we met with her new school and set things up. Her new teacher is amazing!!! Unfortunately SIBs haven't completely ceased, but way, way better than they were.

Hope you can get back here soon. We miss you!

Hi Mili! The book is really interesting. So far I've learned that NT's think more dynamically, sometimes statically, and I think more statically, with a fairly rare moment of dynamic thinking.

I'm now reading about guided participation.

Glad Vince is doing well.

LOL about the turtle biting your ear.

Oh! Well 'the' big news would have to be dh in the hospital, 'my' big news in a life otherwise filled with dishes and vacuuming, etc... was the turtles.

I'm so so so happy to hear the SIBs is way way better. Remind me again what helped, I seem to remember you started her on something that's working.

AspieG, thank goodness she didn't actually bite my ear but certainly tried to take a taste. And yes, you're right about the dynamic versus static thinking. Are you seeing how dynamic thinking happens when the brain is able to communicate with itself continually and access that 'executive' decision maker. Static thinking is the brains inability to do so...very interesting aye?

Low dose Naltrexone.

Is that the med that caused the blushing incident over Dr. S?

Yes, and she still will only take it if I assure her that Dr. S wants her to, and she still gets a goofy grin when I tell her that.
