Kathy,
I'd very much like your opinion of this site. I generally strongly oppose ANY ONE that's selling something but this diet makes sense to me. I'm type O+ & have always done better on a high protien diet.
(I'm beginning to develop a possible duodenal ulcer which is unique to O blood type.)

Thanks,

Hi Neoma,
Thanks for sharing that article with me. I've never heard that hypothesis before but I consider these naturpathic guys the snake-oil salesmen of several centuries ago. The science in it is correct and that makes it believable. There are arthritis diets that are low in purines which have uric acid as a by-product. Lupus or SLE is under the umbrella of the Arthritis Foundation and those patients have an entire host of problems. They should be on a low nitrogen diet automatically.
Now is any of this tyed to blood type? I sure don't know.I have a friend who is a vegetarian because she feels better when she doesn't eat meat....not because her blood type is any particular one. She is also a nurse.
When I did a websearch for this topic I was astounded @ the array of articles on the topic. It just enforces my feeling that the internet is a modern miracle when used correctly. Here is a link I found http://www.skinnyondiets.com/TheBloodTypeDiet.html?b=8277&GCID=S15771x274&KEYWORD=blood%20type%20and%20diet
Also, be advised, I think you mentioned your vet recommended Glucosamine for your dog. You may want to teach him about decorum because it will give him gas. if he"s male he may be proud of his emissions(sorry men)

Kathy,
Thanks for your quick response.
I definitely share your opinion of the snake oil salesmen.
As you've said, the science is definitely there.
Thanks for the site you found. In reading your site, I did discover that nuts are not advised for blood type O. That's interesting, in my pursuit of a "healthy diet", I've been eating a lot of various nuts recently. That will stop immediately. Thanks again!
My 85 lb. male Border Collie definitely has a "gas" problem. Sometimes if you lit a match the whole house would explode! He runs outside if I overtly sniff the air tho. Long live Glucosomine!!!

Kathy and Neoma,
While I don't share your opinion on Naturapaths, I did find both links interesting. I think the diets all share(at least all I have read) the total avoidance of considering advanced age and serious medical conditions as factors. I believe total calorie intake should be reduced as we get older and specific foods that have been proven detrimental to our personal health should be avoided - in my case, red meat.:D :D :D

That Would Be My Campaign Slogan If I Were Running For Office. I Could Eat Chicken Everyday. I Rarely Eat Red Meat. It Is Associated With Many Aggressive Tendencies In Humans. It Contains Caffeine As A Metabolite And Further Breaks Down To Offensive Substances Meant To Be Smelled In Locker Rooms Only.
I Learned A Long Time Ago That I Don't Digest Red Meat Well If I Have A Great Meal @ A Restaurant With Just 1or 2 Drinks. It Has Led To Vomiting Up A Good Meal. A Real Barrel Of Laughs On A Date I'll Tell You.besides, Jim Likes His Beef Well Done And My Jaws Get Exhausted Just Trying To Chew My Meal. I Think It's A Ploy To Get Me To Stop Talking.
