View Full Version : I was diagnosed with Pernicious Anemia in Aug
of '05,my body does not absorb B12.My first blood test showed b12 at 170, since then I have been getting monthly b12 shots and thanks to Rose I've been taking b12 sublingually. My question is, I finally got my 28 yr old son to get tested, and his blood test for B12 was 469.His Dr. said it was normal , and he may never have my problem, is this a number to worry about? boo
The number will mean different things for different people. One person's 500 is low and damaging, while others are not.
He may or may not have (or develop) your problem. But if he were mine, I would suggest that he get testing and then begin at least 1000 mcg at the first hint of any symptom (no matter what the tests say). There is no reason to allow damage to the body when B12 is safe and inexpensive.
Two of my offspring were damaged in their 30s. I have since found that it has been known in some cases to intensify (worsen earlier) in the following generation. Too bad my kids didn't listen to me prior to the damage.

It was what I told him to do last night,it was a second opinion I was looking for. He says that his feet are slightly numb now,so hopefully he will start the pills. He has never seen me when I've been hurting really bad, so he does'nt get it, and he's 28 so,of course no health worries for him! thanks, boo
