I got this in my e-mail; but I usually don't respond/foward them. But this special one from my sister (Carla, as mentioned in the text,) was Christmas Follow the Leader, so I couldn't pass it up!! Also, please please, if you don't celebrate Christmas, or celebrate a differant religious holiday, make sure you edit around this Follow the Leader so we can learn about what you do on your special day! :)
Anyways, this is the e-mail.Here it is:
Welcome to the Christmas edition of getting to know each other better. Okay, here's what you're supposed to do,
and try not to be a SCROOGE!!! Just copy this entire post and paste into your reply that you can send. Change all the answers so that they apply to you. I think if you hit "reply all" it will send it to everyone that I sent it to, but please add me in. It will be fun to see how everyone celebrates the holiday season. 'Tis the Season to be NICE! Don't just read these, participate too. Let's see how many people we can get on the team to participate. This will be lots of fun. I'll start!
1. Wrapping paper or gift bags? Well, I really think wrapping is nicer, coz you take your time doing it.
I’m just not very good at wrapping yet!
2 Real tree or artificial? I love real trees, but dad’s allergic to them. So mom got us a beautiful artificial. It’s easier than real ones, too!
3. When do you put up the tree? This is our second time in California with a tree; we put it up after Thanksgiving. I don’t remember when we did that when we lived in WA though O_O;
4. When do you take the tree down? When Dad says “It’s time to take the tree down, it’s been up too long!” LOL!
5. Do you like eggnog? I used to, but that’s because Dad drank it. Now I just let Dad drink it. Lol.
6. Favorite gift received as a child? Mary, my lamb…but I think she was a baby-shower gift. Sooo….um..Oh!
Grampa Harry gave me Teddy. I miss Teddy. :(
7. Do you have a nativity scene? No, but I want one really badly, for when I move out and/or have a family. :(
8. Hardest person to buy for? Carla! She has everything already that’s so pretty and nice, I don’t think
my presents are as nice as her stuff she already has. LOL. Otherwise, Dad, coz he guesses. I usually just get him food—he likes that!
9. Easiest person to buy for? Juan was, this year, but that’s because he drops hints. Usually mom. She likes just having help around the house and baking things together. I like that because it gives me memories and the best gift IS time, you know :)
10. Worst Christmas gift you ever received? Hmm…Carla gave me this HUGE candy cane once. It tasted like peaches. I loved it! But then we forgot it on top of the fridge and it got moldy. We found it sometime around Easter and it had fuzz! O_o;; *shudder*
11. Mail or email Christmas cards? I like to mail them, because I’m not good at e-mailing. But I have to type them, not write them, so isn’t it KINDA the same thing? :0
12. Favorite Christmas Movie? “Miracle on 34th Street”; anything made by Rankin-Bass (the “Doll People”.)
13. When do you start shopping for Christmas? Usually the beginning of December; but Mom and
Carla start the week after Thanksgiving, usually.
14. Have you ever recycled a Christmas present?*blink, blink* Maaaybe…>_>
15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? Peanut butter-balls! We’re making some right now and I am so so tempted! But I gotta be a good girl, and not a pig! LOL! I always eat too many peanut-butter balls. *pats poochie stomach*
16. Clear lights or colored on the tree? We have clear, but I want coloured.
17. Favorite Christmas song? “Here we Come a Wassailing”, because it has such a good, cheerful meaning to it. :) I also like
“Good King Wenceslas” (and the Bell song, but I can never sing it coz it's too complicated.. :( ) But def. King Wenceslas, because it was the first song I played on the Piano. I can’t do that anymore though. :(
18. Travel at Christmas or Stay At Home? We used to travel, but it’s getting harder these past few years with the bad weather and our old van.
19. Can you name all of Santa's reindeers? Grouchy, Happy, Sneezy, Gizmo…Donald…OK, OK I can’t. I just know Blizten. Comet, and Cupid. Oh and Rudolph. But that’s it ;_;
20. Angel on the tree top or a star? We usually have an angel but now we have Ol’ Fakey tree and Angel’s too heavy. This year we have some tinsel-ribbon on it from a birthday present. It’s really nice because it drapes down like fairy dust ^_^.
21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning? Usually both; it just depends on when Dad’s home :)
22. Most annoying thing about this time of year? Commercialism!!! ARG. I wish people would understand that gifts don’t make Christmas. Christmas is Christ’s day, so we should honour Him and be kind to one another and loving. Yet people are always so sad or grouchy on Christmas! I guess my family is a lucky one that we understand…;)
23. Favorite Christmas Cookie or Candy? Huh? Didn’t we already say this? Ohh..okay. well..I like sugar cookies because everyone gets to decorate them. It’s nice because it’s something we’ve done since before I was born. I’ll be doing it with my children, too! :D
24. Do you hang Candy Canes on the tree? Yea, but....>_>… whenever we do..I..uh..eat them. >_>
25. Does Santa wrap the gifts he leaves? Yup! We call him The Tape Master, he’s so good at it! (Though, once in a while, he’ll just drop em off in the closet and Mom’ll give em to us. Innit Mom awesome?)
