II have a medicare Part D plan that is supposed to be fully subsidized by the state.
they pay the monthly premiums and I pay a low co-pay. I was having problems a few months back and i received a call from someone who dropped my co-pays to zero. A few weeks after that I got another call saying they fixed my co-pays again. I thought great they made the zero co-pays permanent and this while mess is now over. Well I was wrong, that call I received was someone changing my co-pays back to the zero subsidy amount. When I spoke with them tonight I was told that the extra help doesn't go into effect until next year and I know this to be completely false. ARRGGGH I HATE THESE PEOPLE!!!

I want nothing more to do with this but unfortunately I have no choice. I am wondering if I should contact my congressman's office with hope that they could help.

I need to go lay down now before I have a heart attack or stroke over this

Dear Quahog

((hugs)) - sorry you are having this problem. I'm a Mainer too!

I didn't qualify for Maine care or any help in that dept, but fortunately I've been able to go onto almost all generics and the couple of drugs that aren't, I've managed to go without or get samples from the doc (asthma and hbp pills)

i would definitely go to your representative and beg for help, especially if you are facing financial problems or aren't getting meds that you need. With the cold coming I think our elected folks are USUALLY pretty sympathetic if there is anything they can do to help

Medicare and Mainecare has OFFICIALLY been a mess in Maine for the past year (my hubby works on computer programing for several private medical programs- it's a disaster) nothing is working right - so if you can get someone to advocate for you, maybe they will get something pushed through.

Also, is your pharmacy helpful? I was going to Rite Aid and they were HORRIBLE and totally non-helpful when the Medicare part D kicked in - (I think they hate dealing with "poor" people and all the paperwork our Medicare takes) The local Brooks has been VERY helpful - though I heard they are being sold to Rite Aid:mad: Hopefully they will keep on the same staff

Is there a social worker at your doctor's office? If so, maybe they could also help advocate for you

good luck - sending helpful thoughts your way

love,
Linda

barbara the moose found a whole bunch of helpful stuff for me when i first had to deal with medicare/medicaid and then later with part D.

it is all, of course, out there in corrupt database land.

moose, where are you?

i have found Walgreen's drug store to be very helpful in los angeles for explanations. if you have been attacked by an alligator in the social security computer, however, well good luck.

once the social security sent a letter to my address telling me that i was being cut off because they didn't have my address.
