My husband was approved in November and they said our first check would be in February (paying for January)

It takes them a couple months to get there stuff to gether.. Why , i don't know..I got fullt fav. June 2007. Got my first check in August 2007. And that is for july...???Just started to get my checks for backpay. In checks every 3 weeks until there is no more back pay..If I didn't do it this way, I would be waiting forever,,,It's terrible...Oh, another thing,,,They raised my payment of 93 dollars for part B to 147 a month...For every month of next year..Something about my husbands w-2...they checked on it...But most of my husbands w-2 was paying on a business. not monies we have...Oh WEll..Next year there will be a big drop on it..then what !! sorry for venting..cindy

I was found fully favorable, on the bench decision in August of last year. The ALJ filled out some sort of paperwork right then and there to expedite the back pay and monthly checks. The back pay and first monthly check were received in Oct, 2 months after the decision was rendered.

Good Luck,

Dennis

If I remember correctly, there is a (60) day period...which is like a waiting period...after you receive the letter that states "Fully Favorable". Within this timeframe they (can) change their mind, per se...but usually they do NOT. It's just another one of their steps/procedures.

So, you should began receiving your checks, and your backpay...by the first of the year...sooner, hopefully. Just hang in there a little bit longer...you are almost there.

Try and look at it this way...IF by chance you do not receive your money before Christmas...just think of all of those After-Christmas Bargains that you WILL be able to buy. LOL

Here's to Getting those BUCKS...before Christmas, though!

I was also given a fully favorable decision in October, and due to extenuating circumstances, I got about a third of my back pay this week, called "critical pay" in these emergency circumstances. But SSA did say that my monthly payments would start the second week in January, which would be Decembers payment.

And they said the rest of my back pay would come at the scheduled time, which will be the end of January/beginning of February. They also said that the dependent benefits for my daughter will start in February for the monthly checks, and the back pay for that will come in March.

So FINALLY things are moving along and I've got some money. I started my Christmas shopping yesterday...I was about to pull my hair out the mall was so full of such rude people!! I don't go to the mall but maybe twice a year, so maybe I'm just not use to it.

Anyway, if your state works at the same pace Iowa does, you should be getting some money soon. Good luck.
