I had a bout yesterday where I went almost blind in both eyes. Came on all of the sudden. Also came on with inability to walk. Today my eyes are nearly back to normal. Can it come on in both eyes? Does anyone think this sounds like optic neuritis? The ER gave me 1 gram of solumedrol. Could that work so fast? Let me know your opinions or expereinces.

Kathy

I have had bouts with ON on two different occasions and it didn't come on suddenly or go away quickly either of those times. I would strongly urge you to see a doctor to check on other possibilities.

Hi Kathy,
Yes, you can have optic neuritis in both eyes. It's quite common, in fact, but not necessarily due to MS.

Have you seen an eye doctor to have this checked out? Or if you have a neurologist, maybe notify him or her--?

The legs aren't usually involved in an ON attack but you never know with MS.

Sorry I can't answer your other question but somebody else probably can.
