Let this be a Happy Place :)

One of the best medicines I believe in is the healing power of laughter. I realize it cannot be a stand alone cure for a manic or a depressive episode, but in every day life laughter is helpful to my outlook. I still go through depressive episodes, but when I can laugh every day it really helps me through the episode. I know there are some that are too deep to allow you to laugh for some people, but I believe in laughing whenever possible.

In that spirit, I would like to see some humor in here. I think it would help many of us. Please share a situation that made you laugh, or made you smile. Share a favourite tasteful joke. Share a beautiful moment. Just please keep your stories and jokes tasteful and free of triggers as much as possible. Feel free to also share any techniques you use every day to brighten your mood or self esteem.

Namaste,

Daniel

Most of the jokes I know are religious in nature which may be a trigger for many, so I will start with just a happy thought. This weekend I will be able to take a rainy day walk on the beach and/or through the local oak forest. I want to collect pretty stones and shells on the beach. Maybe find an interesting piece of wood to carve something out of.

I will try to think of some relatively trigger free jokes to share and I look forward to reading your jokes, humour and beautiful stories and experiences.

Namaste,

Daniel

Yesterday i saw an incredible aurora just before sun-up. it lasted all of 3 minutes before the light changed. the sky was filled with these small puffy clouds - small and high up, like cirrus clouds, but puffy shaped, like a cupcake version of a cumulous cloud. i ruined my story with technicalities. try again:

The sky was all pinky orange salmon glowing around and through these fluffy pinky shapes. the ground scenery: the park across the way, the big yard with the dogs downstairs, all theses colors were muted by a haze of frozen dew. And above, Glory.

I awoke my parents gently before bringing them tea, so they could see it too.

who knows maybe your computer will learn some latin dancing?

Daniel,

i sort of fell on that genious thread by accident, following a search on the word “keyboard” because i dropped coffee on my keyboard…

my new (50#) dog hit the corner of my desk and my coffee mug that was right on the left corner of it flew on the floor and on the wall, with most of its content, except for some that fell on me, and the rest on the keyboard… :(

i immediately turned the keyboard upside down, shook it, wiped it with one of these paper towel they advertise on tv saying you only need one… then blowdried it (cold air)

at that moment, i felt like grabbing my dog, fold it into a ball, and insert it into the cup… but it’s not a tiny teacup dog… it’s a springer (english springer spaniel) so it would have spring (sprung) right out of it… :D

waves,

i’ve learned my lesson… as some keys are still not functioning well, and i may have to buy a new one (but i will try to open it and clean it with alcohol and cotton swabs)

p.s. the mug was containing arabica coffee, vanilla rice milk, and coconut oil... it may very well have jumped all over the place by itself... without the dog's kick...

ok for coffee... anytime you're visiting the ottawa/gatineau area, let me know...

until then, you can make some at home... you have the receipe... i use espresso coffee to make this latte...

yes, on the pic is my new 9yo little girl - you may appreciate to see her own thread on pet therapy :D

wishing you a good night!
