Looks like the July 13th reschedule of the June 15th appointment that we couldn't wait 3 or 4 hours for will wind up being canceled (with my approval, and another plan).
After we learned that wait time was normal for this doctor, my mom made a bunch of phone calls to a bunch of different doctors. A couple were supposed to check and see if they could take a new medicaid patient and call back -- they never did so my mom called one of them back this morning. They can only take a certain number of new medicaid patients per month, and July and August are maxed out, but I have an appointment Sept. 1st.
This office is actually quite close to my apartment. My mom has been there before, not with this doctor, but she said that she hasn't experienced a monstrous wait time once there. I think she said she's never seen a more that 40min. wait time there. It is a female doctor as is my preference and my mom asked and the receptionist did tell her that she does work with patients with anxiety issues.
Hopefully, this is a go, I'll actually get in on the scheduled day, and she'll turn out to be a good one.
