My LTD won't write a letter to say that I am receiving LTD. I have two doctors who have filled out the forms for loan forgiveness. Is there anyone who has gotten it without having evidence of SSDI or LTD and with only docotr statements? Or am I going to have to apply for and get SSDI before I have a chance? Kathy

Why don't you have evidence of LTD?

If you are receiving it, you must have received a letter saying you were approved and for how much, plus you must have monthly statements from the LTD provider, or at least a once a year statement for income tax purposes?

I don't recall ever receiving a letter of being approved. That was four years ago. I don't get a yearly statement. All I ever get us a stub every month that is pretty non-discreet looking. Kathy

Could you make photocopies of the last three of the stubs? There must be some information on them to indicate where the funds came from--?

I got a letter from LTD when it started, and periodically get stuff in the mail from them asking for forms, etc. I don't know why they wouldn't send you something that says you are getting benefits from them. Seems strange.

Re: the loan cancellation forms... I never sent them anything specifically saying that I was or wasn't getting LTD, SSI/SSDI, etc. I sent them the forms signed by my doctor, and I believe that I signed something allowing them to request my medical records so they could evaluate whether or not I met the criteria for what they call "Total and Permanent Disability." It was based on what was/is going on with me medically, not what other benefits I qualify for, if that makes sense.
