:(What do you do when it's been over a year, but, you still can't get
yourself to go certain places or do certain things, to the point, where,
it's really starting to get in the way of your being able to do get things
done, which, need to be done?!?!?!?:(

dear phyllis *bunch,
if you had asked only this question:
:(What do you do when it's been over a year, but, you still can't get yourself to go certain places or do certain things
i would have said, give yourself time to heal. everybody goes through grief at their own pace.
but, you added this:
it's really starting to get in the way of your being able to do get things done, which, need to be done?
i'm saying, you're still grieving, which is okay, but you should be able to do what you have to do and what needs to be done. you have to talk to somebody about what's going on...because you are paralyzed by something and you need to find out what.

:confused:It's wierd!! I mean, I don't feel like crying or sobbing, or, anything!
Already, been there/ done that when it happened.
:confused:I just can't "get with it" and make, myself, do things and go places,
that, we used to do, together.

((((phyllis)))),
i can empathize with your feelings.
you seem to be a generally cheerful person, so i think something must be really bothering you for you not to be able to do what you need to do.
i know you will get to the bottom of this, because you still have your own life to live...and being in this kind of rut is not good.
have courage *smallrose,

Just saw this post & now I understand better about the wait to see the doc end of July. Assume you are on the list for any cancellation?
Phyllis, the fact you recognize your problem is a big step in itself. And you want to change it so that's also I good thing.
Try to envision what the doc will say to you. Sometimes you can leave a doc office & claim ya might as well have been talking to a wall. So I hope you luck out on getting some actual feedback!
Meanwhile how can we help? the more you stay in the rut the deeper it gets ya know! And believe me how I come across on BT versus how I actually am in real life are 2 different things. As you said, easy to stick on a smiley face eh?
Sometimes we can't push time, keep that in mind. I have faith you'll be just fine.

Phyllis
well here is another. i agree, i still remember your other name, LOL. and it seemed to fit as well. i hope that you can get back to feeling like you want to or need to.
i'm also very glad that you are sticking with us in the emotional forums, it makes it easier that way to keep up with you. some days i don't ever leave that forum and guess it's a good thing for all that i don't post in the chronic pain as that's all i'd ever talk about if i started in on that.
it's always good to see your smilies and such.

Hi Pony,
I am new here but I am hanging mostly in Spinal Disorders too. Maybe we will see each other there.
Is there another mall you can go to? Or can you mail order whatever you need? I am a big fan of internet shopping.
Don't rush yourself, but do try to keep moving. Baby steps. I am a big believer in baby steps.
Sincerely,
Smith

:(I mean, *fun*, mall-shopping, we did, together.
I only *need* to grocery-shop, but, that's not an issue!:)
Phyllis
i say just try it. go with the intention of staying a certain amount of time. you could start in the opposite end the two of you usually went nside perhaps? i mean if you were creatures of habit. you really do need to start somewhere on this to be able to achieve a bit of happiness back, i would WILL hope you can.
i know it iss hard, i really do know.

:oIt'd be so much easier, if, I had someone, else, to go with, though!:p
;)At least, for a while, ya know???
Phyllis
i know. will sister or is it sisters go at all? or would that just make things worse? or am i prying too much. if so, no need to answer. i just wish it were otherwise for you as i myself stay at home far too much.
i truly canot make even small talk anymore it seems. i use to could talk to salespeople so easy at least. of course a lot depends on how i feel as well, as it is with most of us it seems :(

Well you need to adopt yourself a new "sister"!! Not sure how to go about it however. There's someone out there that needs you just as much as you need them,so get out there & find that person OK?
((((hugs))))
P.S. I also get very lonely knowing I have a friend that never calls or comes to see me-makes me wonder how good of a friend she is? Guess that's life, but you are too young to be alone so much so I urge you to do something for YOU.
