I'm reaching out here. Does anyone have any recommendations for a Auditory Trainer. I have spent months reading up on CAPD and other than reading about the disorder I am unable to find anything regarding the trainers. My DS will be entering Middle school and switching classrooms and the current FM system used for him isn't possible in all the classrooms he'll attend. I am looking for something portable.
Anyone have an idea. Please.
It's frustrating wanting to help him but keep feeling like I run into a brick wall.

Can'nt the school advise you of what other children have used, your son can't be the first one to use an auditory trainer. Do you have a local SEPTA (special Ed PTA) you can talk too? Maybe someone there will have some experience of what works.
(I know my sd would not have been forthcoming about what would work or the existence of a SEPTA.)
You could go to a school board meeting to find out about SEPTA, find out who parent members are and such. good luck!

Schools being very unhelpful. He does have a 504 butapparently that doesn't mean anything. They are out of compliance but find loopholes to get around. If that makes sense. Do have one person who is trying to assist, No other students use an FM due to diagnosis. DS is a above average student but not because of them. I spend my evening teaching him what he should have learned in school. Suggested quality homework vs quantity would be better for him to no avail. Poor thing works till 8pm every night doing school work. Found a FM system (Dr. suggested) it's a Phonak's and have spent all summer trying to ensure I'd have it before school starts. $$$$$$ Insurance denied today and I can only come up with 1/2 the cost although they will allow hearing aids. Got the letter today. I'll be on the phone first thing monday. I will ask the school again to purchase. I'm back to square one with only 2 weeks till school. I've shed many a tear today. Thanks for listening to my vent.

did you call septa????
Go to a school board meeting and ask if you can't get a straight answer, they are funded by the PTA and it is a special ed pta, usually the sd keeps it under wraps.
