Well, I'm a woman (but not a lady). ;)

You don't say whether you are a woman or a man, and I see you haven't posted on a disease forum yet. You'll probably find more women there to talk to.

We used to have more LBGT women posting back when this forum was getting underway, but most of them have fallen by the wayside for whatever reason.

There really isn't any "should" about where to post first; it's just that people come to BrainTalk initially because they're concerned about a neurological illness of some sort, and usually go to the forum for that first.

I'm not around too much because I'm pretty busy on another MS board, but I'd be glad to talk to you too. :)

I don't usually post here, but I certainly fit.

In fact, I could almost be Spiritwomyn's twin. Scored more than one brain injury, tho (don't know if that makes me lucky or unlucky). Kyphoscoliosis instead of mild scoli and bulging discs. No twins, just a nephew and a demented mother. And I know I'm crazy... said mother doesn't help (neither does the too-much everything else). But the thick psych file is the dead giveaway.

Identify as lesbian... but haven't actually had sex for years, either.

I'm female and just back online after a computer crash two years ago.

I'm not gay or transgendered but my life partner is transgendered.

I usually post on the bipolar or depression forums. I post here and at NT.

I'll talk to anyone.

Its all here!!!! Well I am a lesbian proud and true. Took me a while to get here but here I am. I also would be glad to talk to all of you.

What a great group!!! I'm around...sometimes in the MS group, other times in the pain group. I jump around a bit looking asking wondering. Nice to meet all the ladies. I live in Washington State where the tall Pines hit the Ocean. Loving life, raising my son age 2. Proud and true all the way through.

Feel free to chat with me. I will get back as soon as I find time.

My husband's too old--not able to have sex for ten years. I am his caregiver even though I have two neurological diseases, MS and Porphyria.

I am not a lesbian or bi, but I've been on another forum where there is hostility to homosexuals of any kind. I feel sad about this, because I have had good homosexual male friends since I was a teen who was involved in dance and music. I have not had any lesbian friends unless they were concealing it. Now, I have almost no friends at all because due to circumstances economic, we live in a small town in New Mexico. I would love to get back to the coast if we could sell the house--we are fixing it up to do so--but it's nearly impossible to sell here.

I am sad that being a Christian seems to mean to most people that we must condemn those who are what they are.

So I will take myself off of here, as I don't really belong here, but I just wanted to see what you folks had to say. You suffer just as I do. I believe God is going to separate sheep from goats pretty soon, and you are just as likely to be sheep as anyone else.

Spiritwomyn, I'm a woman also who doesn't have sex. I'm a sexual abuse survivor and because of too many flashbacks in the last 3 years I have not had any sex with my partner.
I also have fibromyalgia, arthritis in lumbar and sacral spine, migraines, ADD, DID, PTSD, CAPD, BipolarII and I'm sure I"m leaving something out but that is all I can think of right now.

I hope to get to know some of the women here and make some good friends.

Lets start again.

I am a womyn and a proud lesbian.
Didn't come out until age 50.
One year "out" and its the best decision I have ever made!!

Hi Bonnie!
I'm 41 and have been out of the closet for about 22 years now. It was hard at first because my mom first picked up on it when she came for a visit and my girlfriend was there. She later said that she was a little funny, speaking of my girlfriend. I got the third degree from my dad but it didn't matter to me really, they could learn to live with it or disown me. They finally said that they didn't approve of my lifestyle but still loved me because I was their daughter. :) I am happily intrusted to my partner of 7 years and we are planning a celtic hand fasting for either the fall or next spring when we can save some money up for a nice location and lodging. We are still in the search for a priestess to preform the ceremony.
Hope to hear from you again soon.

HI Jordan
Your ceremony sounds wonderful.
Where do you live.
I am in BC Canada.
Marriages are legal here.*silverbells

I have been with my gf for almost a year!

We will live together but not get married,
I have been there done that and never again.
(althogh it was with men)

We are totally committed to each other and that
is enough for now anyway.

Hope you come back to this site. It is very slow.
Where do you usually go??

Take care

I live in Central Arkansas. I guess if I'm cold right now you must be terribly cold. That is kewl that lesbian/gay weddings are legal there. Not here in Arkansas but there is a little town in NW Arkansas where we can sign a registary although it is not recognized by the state but there are some companies in that area that will give partners insurance as if they were hetrosexual couples. That's great that you two are totally committed to each other.

I home on the net is on delphiforums. I run two forums there. I'm open and honest that about being a lesbian. I have DID or Dissocitive Idenity Disorder and one of my forums focuses on Littles, Middles and Teens and protectors of those kids. My other forum focuses on issues of Pain, fibromyalgia, addiction, depression, bipolor and DID.
Do you have an account with Delphi?

Take care and hope to talk soon!

who said they had to leave here because they did'nt belong? i'm a 50 yr old (SCORPIO) and i've been with my partner for a little over 8 yrs. now but i am sure she would agree that we wouldn't kick you out just because your married to a man. if you feel better here then stick around. i'll talk to you. unfortunately not for long at a time. i have M.S. severley, along with FMS, TOCS, and so many other B.S. diseases that i cannot sit up for more than a few minutes. but those few minutes belong to anyone who cares to tell me about themselves. but maybe i'll be better in a few weeks. i have to have both of my knees replaced. not looking forward to it but it must be better than this gut-wrenching pain i feel every second of the day. where is everybody from? i'm stuck here in Texas. but it's where i was born. so i'm proud. thats what i hear the rules are. Hello,
I am Slower and I have Multiple Sclerosis. It is nice to see that there is a place here for Gay and Lesbian people. I am a 50 yr. old lesbian who was diagnosed with MS 10 years ago although I really believe I have had it since I was a teenager.

Hi Slower and welcome.
Unfortunately this is a super slow forum.
You should find lots of posting in the MS forum tho.
I hang out usually in Chronic Pain and the Spinal forums.
I am also 50, oh sorry actually I had another birthday so must admit to 51
It is only a number anway!

Hey everyone lets start talking in here more often!!!!

I found this forum while trying to learn as much as possible about the colloid cyst that's in my head. My partner of 11 years and I live in northeastern Oklahoma.

Anyone else out there kickin'?

I'm 44 yr lesbian, mom to two sons both of whom are in their 20's now, a nurse by profession (LPN) but not working at the moment due to complications related to a left parietooccipital arteriovenous malformation. Since this board doesn't seem to be very active and I can't find an AVM discussion thread, I guess I'll probably try posting in the epilepsy and/or rare medical conditions forums. Maybe in the Social Security forum since that's a big part of my reality at the moment.
