Hi, All!
I've been working with JulieNH on trying to get a NNE support group started and we've made some good progress.
All of you who may be interested please mark your calendars for our first get-together!
I've tentatively got a room scheduled for June 27th (Saturday) at 12 noon at Concord Hospital in Concord, NH. I expect confirmation of that early next week, but wanted to get the word out right away as I know that summer weekends get booked up fast. As soon as the details are finalized, I will post them here.
Hope to see you there!:)

Thanks for starting to set things up! I'll check our calendars and see if we can make it. I know Dave won't let me drive by myself, even to NH and he has already requested to come along. He can converse with any other survivor's care givers and compare that stress! :-) Or if no other spouses are coming, I can send him out to go shopping.

Julie:
This sounds terrific! I have to find out how far we are from Concord. We are in northern Massachusetts, near southern New Hampshire. My husband is a survivor I am a caregiver.

Laurie,
Hop onto route 495 to route 93 north and it's about 40 miles on 93. Follow the Hospital signs to Concord Hospital.
I'm looking forward to meeting you!:)

Hi,
I'll definately try to be there, the 27th works for me. Not quite sure where Concord Hospital is, but that's what I got the internet for. ;)
I am about 2 1/2 hours north of Concord, so if anyone is in the very northern parts of northern new england, and needs a ride if it's on my way, I'd be more then happy to help out. :)
If you all need further help setting things up or if you need to have anything brought to the meeting etc. Let me know and I will see what I can do. :)
Hope to see you all there.

Jen,
I'm looking forward to meeting you! Bring as many people touched by aneurysms ( caretakers, family members, survivors, friends) as you can find! All are welcome!

Julie,
definately looking forward meeting you too, and anyone else who has been afflicted by an aneurysm one way or another. It's always good to know one isn't alone. For this meeting I'll probably be arriving by myself, hubby has to work and my friend who would be interested to come has to work that Saturday too. Maybe next time. :)
I have figured out how to get to the hospital, shouldn't be too difficult. Do we know yet which floor and room number where we will meet? With my luck I'll have hospital security following me around if I were to roam the hospital aimlessly. :D
Hoping to meet you all soon !

Hi, all!
After many phone calls and emails, and a lot of hunting around by several folks we have a firm location for our June 27th meeting in Concord, NH.
The location will be at the New Hampshire Fire Academy (more on that at the meeting) which is located at 222 Sheep Davis Road (Route 106) in Concord. The directions are fairly simple: from I-93 North, take Exit 13 (Manchester Street). Make a right & cross the river. From I-93 South, take the same exit and make a left to cross the river. On the other side of the bridge, take a left onto Old Turnpike Road (Carlson Chrysler is on the corner). Continue on Old Turnpike Road, going straight across the intersection of Airport Road and continue straight on to the intersection of Sheep Davis Road. Go straight through that intersection (the last one) into the State Office Complex. Follow the road to the parking lot all the way at the bottom of the hill and you will see the Academy administration building (red brick building). We will be meeting in a classroom in the dormitory on the right hand side of the lot as you drive in.
We'll be meeting at 12, but feel free to come a little early if you wish.
I will be there to greet all of you. PM me if you want my cell phone number in case you get lost.:)

Hi All,
looking forward to the 27th. Printed off the directions already... however am not familiar with Concord that much, nor am I all that great with directions :D Will give it my best shot... if I am not there... I'll be driving around aimlessly, so if you see a silver Jeep Grand Cherokee that looks lost with Vermont plates, that'll be me :D Unfortunately I do not own a Cell phone, because I live in the boonies and we don't even have any service here.
What time does everyone plan on being there? I know it starts at noon, but I am the type of person that always has to be early for things so I don't feel like I am late... if that makes any sense
Anyhow looking forward to meeting you all there, and cross your fingers I won't get lost ;)

Hi Jen!
My name is Cara Lee! I have Founded "The Brain Aneurysm Support Network of NH." I was invited by Julie to be a part of their support group and join them since theirs was also new and a joint effort is always worth it. The only difference with my "Network" is that I have aimed to have volunteers that can be called upon when someone is notified that they have a Brain Aneurysm, or a loved one has had a ruptured aneurysm and is in surgery, etc., and is in the "crisis" mode, has questions and can't quite grasp everything at once. We can be available to them as a "liason" to bring them the information packets from the Brain Aneurysm Foundation that includes resources, be there for an ear or even to sit with a loved one while their other is in surgery, or just be there for someone who, like myself, just found out they have a Brain Aneurysm, is stunned and scared and just needs that packet as well as someone to be there to listen and bounce all their fears off of, and know that their not alone in all of this until a loved one comes, or if no-one is around, possibly be there when they get out of surgery or atleast head them in the right direction with resources and a liason to go to for guidance or assistance in the future
Next Saturday, the 27th, at 11AM is our first Support Group Meeting. I saw your message and just wanted to check with you to let you know that the place and time has changed. I just wasn't sure you knew, so here is the information just in case.
The new place is the NH Fire Academy. The address is:
NH Fire Academy
222 Sheep Davis Road (Route 106)
Concord, NH 03301
Here it is on Yahoo maps:(Just copy and paste)
http://maps.yahoo.com/#mvt=m&lat=43.207438&lon=-71.483049&zoom=14&q1=222%2520Sheep%2520Davis%2520Road%252C%2520Conco rd%252C%2520NH
It is going to be at 11:00AM instead of 12PM. If you would like, I can give you directions step by step to the new place. Just let me know. I'd love to help in anyway that I can. I look forward to meeting you!
Take Care,
Cara Lee

Hi,
I definately knew about the location change, but didn't read anything about a time change on here... thanks for letting me... I definately would have been late
I've been looking forward to be able to have and go to a support group like this for ages... well ok since being diagnosed almost 2 years ago. Would love to help other people to not feel so alone in all this, and give support where needed. :)
If anything else changes with next Saturdays' meeting, could someone please post it on here or pm me... it would be greatly appreciated ;)
See you all soon,
Jen

Hi All,
I just wanted to clarify that the first meeting of the Northern New England Aneurysm Support Group is still at noon (12:00 PM) on Sat. June 27th at the NH Fire Academy.
This is a time for us to get together to share stories, provide support as needed, and generally "be there" for one another. A live extension of the on-line forums. All aneurysm survivors, those who have been diagnosed with an aneurysm, their family members, loved ones, survivors, friends and caretakers are all welcome!
I'm looking forward to meeting you all!
