Ok yall "experts"... I need some advice if you all know how to help.

I've been without my van for like 2 months now and going crazy...

HOPEFULLY my brother is going to try to come fix it this weekend. I had been given another van but my brother said its more of a mess and would cost more than just to fix (reweld) the frame on my van and replace the radiator and shocks on my van. And hopefully fix the A/C...

BUT what I need to know or find out..

I've seen posted on here I think is that there are places I THINK that pay or fund to have lifts/ramps put in vans for children... Is there ANYTHING like that for adults??????????? I simply CANT keep lifting my portable ramp to load my powerchair. Im NOT suppose to be lifting that much weight and now my back is worse and right now something is wrong with my right elbow and left shoulder. I cant hardly lift a can of Arizona Rasberry tea without pain let alone my walker in the car Im using let alone that ramp and load a powerchair. I've tried finding a van with a lift or ramp already in it but cant get a loan right now for one. The boys dad wants me to buy our church van (15 passenger van) and take out the back two benches and put a lift in but that costs also.

Do any one you know of anything, anyone or charity or who I can call, contact to help me get either a van or a lift installed in my van? I would soooooooooo appreciate it. Im so dumb or ummmmmmm uggg I dont know the words (I hate when my brain doesnt work) dont know where to look for things like this. I've heard grants do supply things like this and dont have the comprehension to write for a grant. I would love to have one of those to help fix my house for one also.

Sorry for rambling. 2 months without my van is driving me bonkers. I cant take my kids anywhere. I havent been able to go to church (worse torture of all). I live like 15 miles from town. The car Im using now only has 2 seatbelts (the one I use and one other in the front seat and I WONT drive my boys without seatbelts!!!) so I cant drive them in that car. I only use it for my appts and to take one or two of them for an appt.

looking for help for you Gina.

here's one link....even though you may not actually fit into their criteria as a client...you could certainly call them and ask for resources. They are likely to be one of the 'keepers' of that 'hidden knowledge' of community agencies/charities that help.

(for instance, in our town, which treasures it's artists, there has been an annual art exhibit (RampArt) which invites artists with disabilities to exhibit their works (my kids were also invited to participate through Easter Seals) and then the proceeds from the show and sales go to building ramps for the homes of those disabled in the community who need them. Well, that's a local thing and is known about in most part by local agencies, word of mouth, and annual media coverage of the show. But the local agencies know about and promote it.

When I get a shot I'll try to brainstorm/look for more ideas.
