View Full Version : IE address bar, okay, I know...
it is addressed in an earlier thread but I read that and I still don't have a "GO" button. It turned into a "refresh" button. There is also no "Address" to the left of the address bar. I think IE7 messed it up and I don't have a clue  as how to fix it.
Please, someone, help! I can type in an address but it just sits there, sorta like me in front of my computer. At least I move my hands and blink my eyes.:p
Thanks,
Izzy (carol/bama)
I took a look in IE6 and this may be a start. If you right click on an empty spot on the tool bars the "GO" button isn't in the options. You have to right click on the little sliver of space to the right of the address bar to see it listed and choose it.

i don't know about IE 7, only have 6.
how many boxes of toolbars do you see? are there four, each on top of another or do you have them all squished together in one bar? (my preference) also just discovered that you can right click on the little sliver of grey above the address box and get the popup including the go button. thanks TC
how did you wind up with IE 7? i think you are the first one here, at least the first i have seen.
in IE 6 you can press enter after you type in an address and it will go there.
Thanks for the answers. I still don't have a "Go" button and can't get a Pop up box other than "move, size, minamize, max... and Close". Oh well, Enter works! I have 4 bars which I hate until I need one of them. It has a long address bar and then a new bar showing where I am...IE address bar, okay I kno...is in it. Favorites are a star and a +Star to add to favorites.
I like it okay, it just takes getting used to it. It has a Tab bar where you can open multiple pages and click back and forth from one to another. That's kinda neat.
Thanks again,
Izzy~

in 6 it is very fussy about exactly where you click to get the pop up window you want. try right clicking exactly on the last s in the word Address
if you position your cursor exactly at the bottom of a bar it will turn into a double ended arrow. then you can squish all the bars up together into one bar, or two or three. then move the cursor over the up and down line and lengthen or shorten to toolbar. anything hidden can be found in the double arrow on the end of the bar. for example, i see File Edit View >> and when i want Favorites i just click on the >> and there it is. i have everything up in one bar, saves space in the window.
if you want them one at a time on top of each other just pull them down.

in all older versions of windows you can hold down ALT TAB at the same time and then press the tab key to move thru everything you have open. can't tell you about 7. yet.
