...RODE HIS BIKE!!!!!!!!!!!!! *boogie *boogie *boogie
We bought this thing over 3 years ago, and I had just about given up hope that he'd ever learn to ride it. He had insisted on training wheels for so long and then got too big for them, so he had given up. Then tonight, he just hopped on and started riding!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D
LIZARD, witness to a miracle! :D

I just had to come back and say congrats one more time. When you wait a long time for something, it's so much more exciting, it's off the charts exciting, and I bet Drew and all of you are just flying!!!!
Wonderful wonderful news...and what great timing he has right before summer!

It's funny...I really don't know. I was in the house, making my dinner (I'm gluten-free, this-free, and that-free, so I eat different food than everyone else), and I heard hubby yell from the front yard that Drew was riding! I looked out the storm door and was amazed to see it for myself! He had to move his bike so hubby could get to the lawn mower, and he just hopped on and started riding! :D
LIZARD, still gloatin'! :D

Coley did that too...just made the decision and did it! I'm still gloaten too (obviously)...it's called determination!
Let that boy know he's got it and it means good things! When he sets his mind to anything, he CAN and WILL do it! He proved that to you, hubby, us here & to himself!!!!!
Well done DREW! I'm going to put in a good word for ya, I think it might be time for a shiny new bike to replace that old thing that has been sitting in the garage reminding you of how hard things can be when you are scared or nervous!!!

Thats awesome!!!! The same thing happened to Jamie about a month ago. He has a three wheeled bike and could never get the pedals to go all the way around then suddenly he hopped on and everything just clicked. Now he keeps sneaking out trying to ride it when we aren't out there to watch him.

Well let's hear about today Liz...I'm still excited over it!!!
He rode all up and down the street and then Caren called (she was at her BF's) and said she had to go to Urgent Care for a severe sore throat (and of course needed me to pay for it), so I told Drew he had to put his bike into the garage, and he asked if he could ride again when we got home. I said it'd probably be dark by then (it was about 7:30 when Caren got back to pick us up), and amazingly, he was okay with it, but I know he'll be back out again tomorrow after school! :D

Awwwww, nice. I just KNOW how thrilling it is when you wait and wait and wait, and finally it happens...for not just him but you too.

It's so cool, Mil! :) I love watching him. You can tell he gets a lot of pleasure from it. :)
He was insistent on riding today before the bus came. My hubby thought that was funny, but it didn't surprise me that Drew wanted to do it. I'm sure he'll hop back on right after school, too. :)

Way to go Drew!!!!
I remember when Michael first rode his bike. I never thought he would be able to, but we just kept trying and finally he got the hang of balancing and he was so proud of himself!
