I LOVE this book! I want everyone here to read it...it's SO positive it's SO optomistic...OMG! I feel like for the first time I'm allowed to look at Coley's so called deficits as a good thing...
We all are good at certain things, and not so good at some other things...it's what makes us unique right...but more than that, we use or strengths all the time to compensate for our weaknesses...it's the way we are...you can see it in a VERY undeniable way in a person that say has a vision problem, but we also do it in lots of other ways too...
So someone that may not have superior social skills...big deal...they just need to compensate in other ways...
And when we focus so much on the weakness it doesn't give the person a chance to learn how to 'compensate' plus it does a number on self-esteem...
I love this book!
Let me know how you like Hold onto your kids...

Sounds great... After reading this and the other post, really makes me want to get it, I think I will go ahead and order on amazon. How much do I need to spend to get free shipping?
