I recently went in for my annual Angio. I have a clipped annie as well as two others that I had a stent put in a year ago. The angio provided great news, the two annies have not grown in a little over a year. My doctor gave me the okay to start trying to get pregnant. Well I am now 5 weeks pregnant! I am very excited but also very nervous. I know that I will have to have a C-section and I am scheduled to see a perinatal specialist next week because I am considered high risk but am wondering if any one eles has been in my situation?

Congratulations jbodley! This is great news and you must be so excited! It sure is nice to get HAPPY news, isn't it? Anyway, I can't give you personal experience about annies and pregnancy, but I know that I was told that pregnancy after annie "fixing" is fine. The only thing is that delivery would have to be via cesarean (don't want to do pushing!). It sounds like you are getting things in place and you will be in good care. Just be sure to listen to your docs and ENJOY your pregnancy!!!
You may want to contact jess2002. I think she had both her children after she got her annies fixed.
Take care!

Don't know anything about pregnancy after fixing annies, but I went through pregnancy and delivery with an unknown annie. Didn't find it until my daughter was 15 months old but I've probably had the annie since I was born. Luckily for me I had to have a c-section b/c of her position. From what I've heard pg is okay after they're fixed-just have to have c-sections. I'll find out more info tomorrow at my follow-up appt with NS.

Congratulations on your pregnancy :D I can't offer you any experience on this either... i've completed my family and certainly don't plan on having any more! I do know of a few women who have successfully carried babies and given birth to healthy babies. Hopefully they will read your post and offer you some advice. Have you tried searching the forums to see if you can find any threads with some useful information?
Good luck with the pregnancy, and how are you feeling??

Hi. I gave birth 5 times with my annie :) 1 c-section the rest natural. I didn't know I had an annie during this :) . I was a gestational surrogate last year and was actually in the process of doing it one last time when I found out about my annie. When I asked my neuro about being pregnant again he said the biggest thing they would watch out for is my blood pressure, have a c-section and that it should just be like a regular preg.
Congrats and don't worry!

thanks you all so much for the well wishes. My IR told me that I would have to have a c- section. Funny thing is when he said we could try we were actually pregnant! My regular OBGYN was more freaked out than I was and wanted to quickly get me to the specialist. I am excited to go the the specialist on friday for my consultation and ultra sound.
I was concerned when they found my first annie 6 years ago and the 2 new ones that I would never be allowed to have children. I guess it is all about timing and now is the right time.

Hi there Jbodley congratulations yes I had both my children after having two fixed was pregnant within two wks of second op, I also had both of mine naturally so if you are having a c-section you have nothing at all to worry about. It really is the best experience in the world holding your child for the first time especially when you have been so close to death, please get in touch if you want to know anything at all I was in labour 40 odd hrs with my first one 10 and a half with my second and it is such a wonderful experience the pregnancy and everything, the midwives and drs told me to get rid of my first one they said my head wouldn't take the pressure my ns said you will be fine and I was am. Congratulations again. Jess.***

Congratulations on your pregnancy! That's so exciting! I was diagnosed with my aneurysm while I was pregnant with my first child. I didn't have much information on the annie, except that it was small (2mm). Everything was fine during the pregnancy, and my OB wasn't really concerned about it. The only thing that they did do was schedule me for a c-section. All the best with your pregnancy!
