Hi friends - since most of you have been through this already - what will be good questions to ask the NS when I go on Monday. I have a 3-4 mm aneurysm on my right ICA.

Barb-

Check out the other thread by Sandy: Q & A - I Ran These Past My Neurosurgeon

Lots of info, she did a GREAT job with this!

Hi Barb,

There is also the "Search" button, which you can find in the top right hand corner of the viewing page, which is located just below where you sign in. If you type in what it is you are looking for, you will find that there have been a couple of threads created about questions to ask the neurosurgeon. Hopefully you may get some more ideas from these other threads!

Good luck on Monday, and do let us know how it goes!

Hugs,

Nat xx

I'm flabbergasted that some physicians can practice. I went to an appt with a neurosurgeon and it perhaps lasted 5 minutes - I got into the room early, the doctor was 30-40 minutes late. He came in shook our hands (my husband and I), sat down and said "you're lucky to have the aneurysm you do, you'll be fine" and that was about it. I was like, Whoa - so what does that mean. I had the feeling he was going to shake my hands and leave. I asked him to explain that. He then went on to say it was extra-dural, not in the brain and kept referring to it as 2 mm, when the report said 4. He said have a CT angio in a year to see if there are changes. And.......I was waiting for more. He didn't tell me anything - you'd think he would explain what the possibilities are, what to do, what not to do, yada yada. Nope. I asked him what if it gets larger and ruptures. He said 'that won't happen.' I told him to humor me and tell me anyhow. He said I would have the worst nosebleed in my life and my eye would get really red. And.....again nothing. I asked him to tell me 'exactly' where it was, thinking perhaps he had visuals or a model - all he did was point to his eye. OMG!!!!! where did he get his license and diploma, Walmart?

So needlesstosay, I'm definitely going for a second opinion - even if it is a 'nonrisky' aneurysm. I just want someone competent to tell me that.
