Concerned about North Carolina friends

I know there are people on this forum from NC. Anyone from the Apex/Raleigh area? There is a chemical fire and 16,000 people are being evacuated due to a chlorine gas cloud.

I hadn't heard about it. I don't get to watch tv... except barney, blue's clues, etc. I have family in Raleigh, but haven't heard anything from them.

we are in Fayetteville, about 40 miles from Apex, everything okay here, they are saying the rain is helping dissipate the cloud...

We are west of Apex a little less than 2 hours away. I heard about it when I got to work- Apex EMS is one of the squads that we do billing for so we have been watching it most of the morning.

We do! I live about 10 miles from Apex. Nikki, her DH, and 2 of my son's live only 3 miles from where the explosion happened! They are all safe and sound at our house. Thank God! What a scary time.

I work as a geologist at an environmental firm. We frequentley use EQ Northeast (same company) I was arranging some things with them today and had to pick on them (i.e. how are things in NC?). But in all seriousness glad all is OK, chlorine gas is nasty stuff. Hey Nikki Poohs Mom: I thought you were in Fla?

We did move to Florida for two years, but moved back in April this year when Nikki at 3 months pregnant was thought to have went into shunt failure and was in ICU in Florida and the NS there didn't feel comfortable operating on her. It's good to be back. My three son's and two grandchildren are all here. :)
