Mandatory urine test for pain meds

live in Florida. Been on oxycontin with hydrocodone for breakthrough for about 3 yrs. I was told it was a law(who's?)that I be urine tested every other visit or so.I have recently had a major billing problem with the lab that does the testing for my Dr. Does anyone know if it is a law for mandatory testing .Does anyone else get tested so often?I cant find anything about mandatory class 2 or drug law. Thanks

Hi backless!! I've been on Oxycontin since July and have never been tested. I also take Vicoden for b/t. I've never heard of a "law" about being tested, but I do know that when you sign the contract it states that they can test you at anytime. BTW, I also live in Florida.

Hi backless and everybody else. The contract I have signed with my pain med. Dr. I said I would agree to drug screen, pill count and heaven knows what all else.

I have no problem getting the Drug Screen , but the last one I had right before Christmas cost over 600.00 $$. Now I DO HAVE a PROBLEM With That!!

I think my Drs. office has started having the patients take a drug screen about every 2 months! It is beyond me as to why they cost so much! Anybody any idea's?

My husband and I both retired this year and of course our insurance is twice as high and they pay less. I can not afford to give the out-patient at the hospital over 600 $$ every 2 months.

Backless, I am not sure about the laws. I live in SC and I do know DEA have really been screening Drs. and Drug stores pretty heavy in the past year.

I don't know this as a fact, but I wonder if DEA has gotten strighter with their rules. I do read a lot about your state especially since we are so close. I will try to find the "rules" in your state and mine also.

It's too bad the ones that try hardest to do what is right are being punnished because there are many that will Not do whats right.

Oh my, blood pressure is spiking:eek: I had no idea pee cost almost 700 $$ for an ounce. The system needs to be fixed where we all don't suffer just because of a few.

they charge 600.00 here to have your dr say just what i have prescribed you sad not worried so after 3 clean random pops dont bust chops its theese hospitals get addicts in then reffer them to the pain managment clinics such as my community center were i folowed my primary dr as use to him and hate dr's opening up as anxiety is bad have sever lower complex lumbar an over here get alot addicts go in broke an arm some bull get rechecked as most hospitals do sure been there or hurd it then they keep coming as we are really in pain have anxiety dont need more and more they overdose as most do heavy sh.. on top and dr's get screw... i mean not there fault meads are for pain they cant babysit paietnts there adults they no what trhey aere doing so we suffer and then get someone sees you mad you actually are injured for life they just want get high so they say shi.. try get people in trouble i have seen this popping up or ex friend ex girl you are really doing the right thing and they no this yet to get back at you no you will be in severe pain sick on top most meads they call say selling seen so many people tell me this i was asked 4 years ago sad you ever just asking i got p off as i never would ever i sad im in pain so do illegal crap sell them to be in pain and be sick are use nuts they see pills popping up they need look at nurses at hospitals and people at pharmacy's because i hear things on the street of cleaning crews and others stealing from pharmacy's bottles of the 500 or whatever it is example an look there as they call patients in they are right on all the time clean urines all the time well obvious something somewhere is wrong then de blames dr blame govt they love selling drugs they are the biggest drug sealer ever no money in a cure only in the meads no they want crack down lol they push these dr's to put patients on there meads what they need do is cut back busting paitience balls i rather see an adult or teen addict get meads from dr then rob houses rob people on the streets kill do whatever get heroin or whatever its is they get off on maybe de sees crime dropping so they need job security make look like country is still in the red stage this is why addicts don't get help the right way they go gov methadone clinics 90-100 change weekly a community dr will help same if its for pain or addiction cost 20 something dr's and 30 maybe for meads so 50 a month is clinics not making money so govt steps up whats the real reason i mean come on so a gut abuses his meads throw him off so he can rob a house kill someone some crime get the fix they need or maybe they have pain just needed more and still off now crime goes up so i mean cant win
