Man, I got up today, and was sick as a dog even though I was perfectly fine yesterday.

Feels like upper respiratory, but then came the nausia and headache, exhausted, but no body aches which is good. I'm trying not to trip out and worry about swine flu. When I cough, what comes out is white so that should be good, but, inside my chest feels like that nasty hairy feeling when you've got a long cough and the inside of your lungs feels infected and stale. The cough is like that old woman cough, long and sort of wheezy sounding.

The best thing I can do at the moment is not talk - and yes, what a challenge indeed! I'm snapping and whistling at the kids, it's actually working great with them. I think mostly cause they're afraid I'll puke so they're being real nice to me, hee hee. Vince is especially careful, he's jumpy, seems to want and make sure he's got an escape route if I puke.

Man I hate feeling like this. Anyone else sick? That's the bad part about spring, all this stuff wakes up. I'm dying to start my wee garden this year, I have like 20 veggies waiting to be planted, and now I gotta wait. No fair.

I'm eating white foods (chinese medicine says white foods reduce phlegm) and raw honey for my burning throat...but not the tonsil area, deeper down is where it burns. I tried to eat an orange is how I found out, youch!

Ok, well, I'm a big baby. I really hate being sick, and am not stoic like most moms. But not as bad as a husband or anything. I'm open to any advice. I'll take a pity party if no one's got any advice. I have to admit I'm hoping this goes away as quick as it came. Usually respiratory stuff is gradual (at least for me) but this was like WHAM.

Hope it's not bronchitis. My mom's had that, and she's been down for weeks. Probably not what you wanted to hear.

If you puke, maybe Vince will be nice enough to "compliment" it. :p

Baawawawa! I'm sure I'll get a real good Vincism to post if I do.

This is a good opportunity for your kids to get experience taking care of you. Get one of those little "husband bells" and be a big whiney baby!

The throat pain is probably from stomach acid in your esophagus, which burns and irritates it.

Hope you're feeling better soon-baby yourself!

fever?

often sudden onset is influenza, but you didn't mention fever...and high fever goes with that.
