Ok, so Audrey & Coley have been suffering the last couple weeks with allergies...no meds for Coley of course, and what can you give a 2yo anyhow...so I've basically been wiping noses and praying for rain...

As a side note we were up at the Drs a couple weeks ago because Audrey's eczema has gotten really bad! Worst of it is that she can actually access spots that she couldn't a few weeks ago, because wardrobe has changed with the seasons, ya know... So she's been scratching herself bloody in a few places :( So the Dr gave us prescription hydrocortazone, suggested oatmeal baths & bath soap, and benadryl allergy for nighttime.

So poor thing has been waking everynight here the last like week or so...another dose of benadryl, then cuddling with us for the rest of the night...last night despite everything she's scratching and squirming and coughing and snuffing and weezing...poor baby! Poor DH too who had to go to work this am...

So, we get up and she's not happy...she's clearly tired...coughing & coughing and gasping for air...looking a little grey too...

I start to panic when she goes into a coughing fit that ends in a puke...

9am I'm on the phone to my SIL who has a little one, Coley's age, that has bad asthma. I describe to her what's going on, and she basically confirms my fear...okee-dokee haul a$$ to the drs...she gets 2 neb treatments & a prednezone dose before her breathing goes to normal

She's doing better now...we were sent home with a nebulizer which we need to do every 4 hours, a prescription for prednezone and she needs to take zyrtec everyday too...my poor little lady!

Scared the CRAP out of me!...on the way she was getting so upset about everything, going into coughing fits, then barfed just as we pulled into the parking lot.

Her car seat cover is now in the wash  UGH!

Anyhoo, just wanted to vent a little...she's not supposed to have these things happen, she's perfect right?

DER!

EEEw puke... glad I haven't had to clean up puke in a while! (and it was DH's LOL)
Gatlin gets allergies, and this week he's had a really bad rash, i was about to take him to the doctor, but at the last minute thought to ask if he used the new shower soap (one i hadn't bought before) and since he had, i figured i'd wait till a day after he wiped down with vinegar-wash. What do you know, the next day he said it improved (still looks like german measles to me!) So we will see, i am going to give it a couple more days.

I understand the asthma/allergies stuff. Just this last Tuesday I had a asthma attack after a ride (and I have been without a inhaler for to long), and my allergies have been bothering me lately. I had to have a breathing treatment already this year for a asthma attack, while at a bike race. Unfortunately the Albuterol does not help me at all, so with the breathing treatment thingy for a attack, it really does not help me much, but by the end of two of those things the asthma is usually done and I am breathing okay again. Deep slow breaths help me more then anything, as when you start to panic and try to gasp/suck for air it just makes things ten times worse. I think most of the time when I start to feel the symptoms, if I do the deep slow breathing and stay calm I can avoid a attack.

Nebulizer treatment every 4 hours, wow, that is a lot of medication, hope she is feeling better soon. those breathing treatments make you very dizzy, light headed and feeling like someone drugged you, so I am hoping she does not have to do to many of them.

She's better, thanks for checking.

I need to be quick...comcast was down all morning, it's finally back up so I popped in and I just noticed that it's time for her next treatment...I'll be back in a bit to catch up...

Anyhoo, she had a treatment and her allergy med last night at about 7pm...the kid was wired and didn't get to sleep until close to 11...which by then was time for her next one...I decided to put her down and do her next one when she wakes...expecting her to (the doc said we could skip one during sleeping hours)...well she never woke...and she looks MUCH better this am...I think finally being able to sleep helped a lot!

We got some rain last night, and I've had the hepa-filter on our AC running with the windows closed since yesterday am...

Her color and mood is much much much more herself today! :D

ok, gotta fly...thanks again for checking!

Kristen,
Glad she's feeling better today. Hope it continues.

Roadracer,
Glad to hear you were able to get treatment. You've mentioned being asthmatic before, and mentioned not having medical care, and that combination seems pretty disconcerting.

Just wanted to give a quick update...saw the Dr today, and Audrey doesn't need to do anymore neb treatments. Her lungs are clear and quiet. He even said we didn't need to go to the appointment Wed...but to keep the stuff handy 'just in case'...

She does need to finish her prednizone (sp) and continue with the zyrtec though.

So I'm going to keep the appointment, and cancel it Tuesday as long as she's still ok...her Rx will end Monday.

But then...I ended up at the dentist today for an emergency...my friggin mouth is KILLING and I couldn't pinpoint even the source of it...

UGH! I have an infection in the root of one of my molars...it KILLS! So now I'm on antibiotics and painkillers and need a stupid rootcanal

I managed to weasel out of a 2yo b-day party tonight...DH is NOT happy...but the sound of Coley's voice was making my head throb and I had NO desire to be around 20 screaming kids...

I'd love to read or something but I think I better get some stuff done around here or I'll be in BIG trouble later...

The first dose of painkillers did NOTHING...I'm due for the next now...pray for me, please...this is horrible!!!!!!!
