View Full Version : Power corrupts absof*****glutely TRIG
Employees at a state school in Corpus Christi, Texas, forced mentally disabled residents to spar in late-night fight clubs, telling them if they didn’t, they’d be beaten or forced to go to prison. Below is a news report. WARNING: GRAPHIC CONTENT.
This is the sickest thing I’ve seen in a long time. As someone on ABC News said, I think, the employees are behaving like Michael Vicks with his pit bulls — only these are human beings. It’ll be interesting to see if this incident causes as much furor as the Vick story did. Granted, there’s no celebrity involved, but you know how these things go. :mad::(:eek:

I saw this last night on NightLine...I debated posting it...knew only my friends here would understand the full extent, but really wasn't sure I wanted to violate your minds...
It IS disturbing to say the VERY VERY VERY least...I truely hope that the night staff fries in HE!!, and some serious action needs to be taken against the day staff too...either they turned a blind eye or they were so neglectful of their duties & responsibilites that they too should lose some serious rights!

I can imagine the level of sickness felt watching this. It'll hit me later, I'm numb at the moment. It doesn't surprise me that others would find that enjoyable. I was in this situation, forgot about it until seeing this. I was used as 'bait' for the kids in the neighborhood for entertainment after my mom would drop me off at the house of a caregiver so she could work. I was there 4 years, from 3 to 7 years old.
Her teen sons and kids on the block stand in a circle around me (I was 5 or 6 I guess) they'd instruct the kids..."kick her, punch her nose, bite her...harder...". I think the kids they'd use to hurt me were even younger than me cause I remember them being shorter. I'd stand stiff with my arms at my sides, get up over and over as I'd get knocked down. I was terribly confused, it just wasn't in me to tell or cry and for sure wasn't in me to hurt back or even guard myself. I'd stand there like a big dummy. I thought I had done something wrong and was being punished, I just didn't get it.
Finally I had so many marks and scabs on me (not unusual since I was very very clumsy) someone must have noticed and it stopped. I had forgotten all about it till seeing this.
I hope the kids can be helped to move on, my only sense of 'peace' about this is believing they will. I hope the kids don't have to endure trial and all that, it'll just cement it all in their brains more. They're so innocent, you can see it, they just don't have it in them to hurt others. I feel horrible for their parents, they must feel completely devastated.
The people who did it to them can get a taste of their own medicine in prison. And believe me, they will. Just like the real world, prison is loaded with folks that loves someone with a disability and feels ultra-protective toward them.
The kids should have never ever gone through that. I hope and pray it becomes a distant memory that never haunts them. I remember, but can't say I'm haunted. I hope and believe that can happen for them.

Yeah, I've heard that there are certain groups of people, child abusers and their ilk, who do not fare very well in prison. Inmates just generally don't take too kindly to those types, as sick and twisted as they may be. Don't get me wrong, I'm not the vengeful type and therefore don't actively wish bad treatment on these people (even comments made in other threads about poking the guys at Allie's school in the rears with my cane are a joke, and nothing I would really do), and I definitely want them held accountable and brought to justice, but I have a feeling the other inmates will probably take things into their own hands.

:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
Just watched the video (or mostly listened, as I really just wanted the back story the reporters were telling and not to actually see the action, though did take a few glances). I am speechless. And the "staff" were laughing and egging it on.
Anybody got any brain bleach?

This is so awful... i can't believe it took that long for them to figure it out with all your marks. Repressed memories can trigger a lot of stuff, I am hoping you are not going through stuff right now, just be careful and remind yourself to take a break if you start feeling bad. :(
