>>>>>>>>>>>Greetings<<<<<<<<<<<
Iam really sorry to trouble you with this but it has really been troubling me.Add to that i really have no one else to ask.
My scrotum (lovely word that;one of anatomy's finest) has been showing all the symptoms of sunburn for the last week or so-the area has not seen the sun for a while now ;then i bled-not just a mark of red but a spray that kept bleeding.Had i been able to contenplate a plaster being removed from the area i would have applied one .There was no visible scratch just a tiny pin prick that spouted blood.
I have bathed the area and repeatedly applied lavender but the scrotum keeps sheading skin and is hellishly painful.
I know i will probably end up in the Dr.'s surgery with my legs in the air on an examing table but has anyone got any ideas.
I have already tried dovonex and a betnovate-neither as soothing and no more beneficial as lavender. It is really blowing my mind- it is excruciating.
I feel better already having discussed it -thanks.I expect no sympathy from those of a female persuasion.
I will leave you with a joke as this will be heavier to read than it was to write.I had to use my mobile phone as a camera and photograph the area so i could see it !.Not the best picture i have ever taken-horrible colour.
So here's the joke that a Dr. told me a long time ago:
What is the definition of a dermatologist ?

Anyone who can spell betenovate :D
Thanks again.
Wish you all all good things. Be seeing you

Bleeding from anywhere needs to be evaluated by an MD as soon as possible.
You did not mention whether you had itching, burning, or any kind of pain, or if there was any kind of rash, other than redness. This sounds like inflammation. However, you need to see an MD, NOW. Cheerio.

Hello Neil,

I actually came across a site that has a forum on this particular subject, that you might want to go to. Apparently, there are alot of guys who have this condition.
Here is the site~ http://www.healthboards.com/boards/showthread.php?t=445582

If you type in this site, it should take you right to the site. G

Actually, instead of typing the site in, I put it so you can just click on it!

Again,

Especially for the sympathy.I checked out the link you left and thanks for finding it and thinking it might help.I really do not think this is what i have got.It has now spread down the inside of my thighs and perineum.I have an app. with a Dr. this afternoon, hopefully he can calm my nerves if he can't sooth my scrotum. Thanks Neil

Hi Neil,

Let us know what you find out at the docs office. I do hope it is something that can be taken care of. Ya, it sounds like something different if it is spreading.
Good luck with this. I can't imagine how uncomfortable it is. :(

Take care,
Linda :)

)))))))Greetings(((((((
The Dr. i saw took one look at it and declared it was a fungal infection then prescribed a turbinafine cream called " Lamisil" which he said i should continue using for 10 days after the symptoms had stopped , which they are well on the way to doing.
And yes he could spell Betenovete ; he prescribed some for a pre-existing scalp conditon.
Much of the redness and irritation have gone now and i am a lot less uncomfortable. Thanks for your help and support. All the best.
Zoso;)

You may want to ask your doctor that you be tested for diabetes. High blood sugar can make one more prone to fungal infections.

I use to have a chronic problem with athlete's foot. This problem disappeared by lowering the amount of sugar I eat.
