Can anyone tell me how to set up a Word document to print 2 sections on each 8 1/2 by 11 page so that I can fold it in half to insert in a card?

It would be even nicer if I could print 1 section on the front (folded later) then the left then the right then the back if you know what I mean.

I get too flared searching to info or just typing much.

As the title says, my son came to my rescue!

He has a book "Using Microsoft Office" and I only had to read 3 pages ! (not counting the Table of Contents)

So if you want to know how, select File; Page Setup; Paper Size -select Landscape

then select Format; Columns; click on picture of 2 columns

Now you're ready to type your letter.

Page 1:
The 1st column is the back of the folded paper (I left it blank)
The 2nd column is the front of the folded paper (1st page of your letter)

Page 2:
The 1st column is the inside left side of the folded paper (2nd page of your letter)
The 2nd column is the inside right side of the folded paper
(3rd page of your letter)

If you select View; Page Layout & change Zoom to 50% or less you’ll see how each page appears.

I think it will make sense if your try it for yourself.

I love figuring out stuff so once I rested & could use the laptop again I had fun doing this.

For those of you who know "Word" well, I am sure this was SO-O-O BASIC :D

If I wrote this up wrong, please correct me. I confess I am fairly flared again.
Darn Brain Fog

Good info CathyE, thanks for sharing how you found the answer. That's great that you were able to find it after three pages of reading. :D Thanks for posting it here. :)

You're very welcome!

I have pretty "rusty red" bordered paper I can now print my Chritmas notes on & fold inside a card!
