Hi
I have been having terrible sweats and other times so cold I can not get warm, is this "normal" for RSD?
My leg & foot feel like bugs and worms are crawling all over the place.
I am so sick of the sensations, if it's not one thing it's another.
Any suggestions???
What is "normal"???
Thanks

Sweating and chills are very normal with rsd. It messes up all of our systems and the reason that happens is because we can't regulate our body temp anymore. The crawlies are normal too.
Electrical stabbing pain is normal, goose bumps even when you're not cold, lesions, rash, hair loss on the limb but also on the head, very slow or very fast nail growth, ridged nails or yellow nails, nails that are thicker or thinner than before. Feeling a cold "wet" sensation for some. Skin that's very dry, it can also peel or become very thick and calloused. Pain being higher because of a change in the weather, like a front coming through, higher pain when it's cold or wet outside. Not being able to tolerate very warm or hot weather. I hate that cause it makes me feel crappy.
Ummm.....that's all I can think of at the moment. lol RSD can pretty much do anything and everything. Low grade fevers, blood pressure issues.
Ask all the questions you want to. As for suggestions, well, for those particular things you mentioned, there's really nothing you can do for them. I wish I could say differently. Things like jerking, spasms and pain, sometimes the burning can be helped by meds, but most everything else you can't make it go away or even help in any way. Although Lyrica did help get rid of my sweats and the electrical jabs though. If it weren't for the fact it made the numbness in my legs worse I'd still be taking it! I enjoyed not feeling those things.

I have loss of sensation in my feet and sometimes numbness in my calves.
I also take Lyrica. For a while I thought I was getting some of this sensation back, but recently it's seems to be a bit worse. Is this all due to the Lyrica or could it also be the RSD?
I've also had many of these other symptoms but not all.
It seems to be different for different people in some ways.

Yup, we all have rsd but not all of us have the same symptoms nor do we have it to the same degree. I quit taking lyrica because it was making the numbness in my legs worse. RSD does cause numbness but you might be getting worse numbness because of the lyrica like I did. I knew for sure it was the lyrica when I quit taking it and the numbness went back to "normal". lol

Hi everyone
Thanks for the replies. I can not stand this anymore, the hot and cold, itching, sweating, burning, crawling feeling all over my RSD areas, it awful. Plus with all these feeling I am getting bad migraines. The whole thing stinks.
Mine started from an operation in which the nerves were damaged.
My life, as many of you know from this "beast" is no longer my own. I was the very independent type, for me to ask for help is like taking candy from a child.
My family is pretty good but I know it takes it toll on them also. They do plenty for me, as I am unable to drive because of this.
I tried lyrica and had a terrible allergic reaction, I have this problem with many medications.
Thanks for sharing with me and keep in touch. This can be a very lonely situation.
